Waverley Care is Scotland’s HIV and Hepatitis C charity. We are recruiting a Women’s Outreach Coordinator to join our HIV Street Support Project. Funded by the Big Lottery Fund, the pilot project is responding to the HIV outbreak in Glasgow by providing a street support service for people who inject drugs.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support, delivering harm reduction advice and interventions to women who inject drugs – some of whom may also be involved in transactional sex and have experienced gender-based violence. The focus will be on managing and addressing gender-related HIV risk factors.

We are looking for someone who has a strong track record of working with vulnerable people with multiple and complex needs, who works well in a team as well as independently, and who is passionate about working with communities to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people in Scotland. If that sounds like you then we would love to hear from you.

In return, we offer a supportive and valuing work environment with encouragement to develop personally and professionally.

The Women’s Outreach Coordinator post has been funded by Gilead.

Please Note: Due to the nature of the work, this post is open to female applicants only under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
