  • Glasgow
  • Closing 30th September 2019

Role

At Phoenix Futures Scotland we are very proud of the work we do across the country. We are inspired by the people we witness every day who address their substance use issues with our support.

We have a long history of providing recovery services in Scotland where our first service opened in 1992. Much has changed over the last 27 years, but what hasn’t changed is our unswerving commitment to supporting people to achieve recovery.

In 2012 Phoenix created a Scotland Board – formally a sub-committee of the UK Board with the Chair of the Scotland Board being a member of the UK Board and the remaining Scotland Board members being co-opted committee members.

The Board is a fully engaged and vital element of our operations in Scotland. Board members have a visibility with the staff and services users and join in celebrations of recovery and wider organisational events throughout the year. They provide a key strategic and performance monitoring role within the Scottish national context.

Having been instrumental in helping to establish and develop the Scotland Board the current Chair will complete their term of office later this year, after serving a maximum term of office within our governance rules. We are now looking for our next Scotland Chair.

We are looking for an individual with a good understanding of charity and or housing association governance. Someone who is a leader and confident communicator and who shares our commitment to continuing to find innovative ways to deliver vital services to the most vulnerable in times of economic uncertainty. If this is you we would love to hear from you.
