Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the right values to join our service in Clydebank to assist and support vulnerable homeless people to achieve better lives.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide a meaningful support service to identified individuals who live in the Project. You will provide a quality service tailored to the assessed needs of each individual by identifying, planning and facilitating support to enable appropriate move on options for each service user. You will use all of your knowledge and experience to help service users build their skills and prepare for independent living. This will include ensuring that minimum standards of health, safety & hygiene are both established & maintained in all communal areas.

The Clydebank project provides accommodation and support for people aged 16 and over who are experiencing homelessness. The support offered is needs-led with regular reviews. Accommodates 13 people with single bedrooms and shared kitchens, lounges and laundry facilities as well as 4 single flats within the accommodation.

The project provides 24 hour staff cover and has a staff team of 1 Project Manager, 1 Assistant Manager, 3 full-time Project Workers and 3 part-time Project Workers.

The post will involve 4 x 10 hour shifts (22:00 – 08:00) per week over a 2 week rolling rota, and alternate weekends are included.

You will have an SVQ3 qualification in social care. Other essentials include: experience of working with vulnerable people, addiction issues and challenging behaviour; effective written and verbal communication; knowledge of homelessness issues; above all, the determination to make a difference in the lives of our service users.

If successful, you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of your start date. After registration there is a requirement to be qualified and to maintain professional learning.
