We are recruiting for an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join our award-winning Policy & Public Affairs team on a short-term 4-month contract. The successful candidate will need to support an extensive programme of public affairs activity for the charity in Scotland over the last four months of 2019. This will include responding to Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament consultations, supporting an extensive thought leadership programme, as well as contribute to on-going Scottish political engagement work and wider UK policy and public affairs work.

There will be an opportunity for this post to be made permanent in 2020.

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading charity for terminal illness. We:

  • provide care and support directly to people affected by terminal illness;
  • fund and undertake research into improving care and quality of life for people who are dying with a terminal illness and the people who care for them;
  • campaign to ensure that people with a terminal illness are able to live as well as possible until they die, regardless of their personal circumstances or diagnosis.

We are looking for someone with considerable experience working in Scottish Public Affairs roles who has led on policy work with a strong track record of delivering accurate and impactful written materials. They will also need to have a good background in organising and managing events.

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager reports to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, Scotland and is part of the UK wide Policy and Public Affairs Team.
