Project Officer - Campaigns

  • Full time
  • £23,000 – £27,000
  • Based in Stirling

  • Advertised from 2nd September 2019

Keep Scotland Beautiful is the charity that campaigns, acts and educates on a range of local, national and global environmental issues to change behaviour and improve the quality of people’s lives and the places they care for. We are committed to making Scotland clean, green and more sustainable.

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting Upstream Battle, our national behaviour change campaign and helping shape and develop the next phase of the campaign into 2021 and 2022 which means there is the possibility that this role will extend beyond 31 March 2020.

Upstream Battle is our ambitious campaign to change behaviour and prevent marine litter at source. Focused on the entire length of the River Clyde and its tributaries, we will raise awareness, gather evidence and inspire action. Connecting communities, individuals, schools, and the private and public sectors, everyone has a part to play in keeping the Clyde clean and protecting our seas.

Our ideal candidate will have good working knowledge of developing, organising and delivering large-scale campaigns and initiatives, along with experience of managing complex projects and financial and budget management. Experience of coordinating and supporting volunteer participation and maintaining and developing press, media and PR activity is also required. An understanding of environmental issues and policy relating to litter, plastics pollution, circular economy and climate change is essential as is experience of developing website content.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Paul Wallace, Campaigns & Social Innovation Manager on 01786 471333.
