Role

As Hearing Forces Project Manager, you will lead and manage three Project Officers and admin staff ensuring that staff and volunteers are developed, trained and motivated to provide the highest quality outreach and information service to support the delivery of the wider Unforgotten Forces Project.

We are looking for an experienced Manager who has the project and management skills to support a team to continue to deliver this much needed service.

Project staff are employed to provide information, advice and support to individuals, their families and/or carers on issues surrounding their hearing loss or tinnitus. We offer a pathway of support alleviating concerns over their hearing loss; this pathway consists of pre-fit support of hearing aids, information support in relation to audiology visits, post support thereafter and advice on any assistive equipment available. In relation to tinnitus we provide support groups, courses, factsheets, equipment loans and one to one individual support to enable the veterans to gain an understanding of how to cope and manage their condition.

Action on Hearing Loss Scotland’s Hearing Forces Project is part of consortium led by Poppy Scotland, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Aged Veterans Fund to provide services to aged veterans named ‘Unforgotten Forces’. We work with partners pan Scotland with staff covering North, East and West for the projects’ three year duration which ends on 30th June 2020 (funding beyond this date is being pursued by the consortium). We provide rehabilitation support to aged veterans with hearing loss or tinnitus.
