Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. Today, SAMH operates 60 services in communities across Scotland providing mental health social care support, homelessness, addictions and employment services among others. These services, together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

SAMH is currently looking to recruit Support Workers across our North Lanarkshire Support Service . As a key worker we expect you to establish positive relationships and offer practical and emotional support to the people who use our services and have severe and enduring mental health problems.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a mature and caring attitude and possess excellent listening and communication skills. You should already have extensive experience of working in the field of mental health or social care, and must be able to demonstrate a high degree of skill in report writing, assessing client need and developing professional support plans. SVQ Level II in care or equivalent is highly desirable.

These posts will involve flexible working across the North Lanarkshire Area and our offices are based in Airdrie and Motherwell. A variety of shift patterns including day shifts, backshifts and weekends, you will be flexible in the hours and shifts you are available to work. Access to own transport is essential.
