The Operations Manager is a key role at the PF which ensures that all aspects of our business, service delivery, and operations are carried out successfully, efficiently, safely, and cost effectively.
The role crosses a number of areas of our business, from everyday appointment administration to our policies and procedures, IT systems and the management of our building. It is a wide ranging, busy job with multiple priorities. As such, we need someone who is efficient, process minded and able to juggle competing demands to support a large team of committed volunteers.
The Operations Manager must be an excellent communicator and able to forge positive relationships with a wide variety of people, bringing staff and volunteers on board with new systems and processes, and ensuring they work within existing policies and procedures.
Organisation profile:
The PF Counselling Service is a COSCA Recognised voluntary counselling agency which offers both short and long term therapy to people over the age of 18, irrespective of where they live or their ability to pay. It was established in 1986 and is now the largest independent charity providing voluntary counselling services in Edinburgh.
The PF offers over 12,000 sessions of counselling a year to over 750 clients, provided by around 100 professionally trained volunteer counsellors. The staff team of four is responsible for all aspects of delivering the service.

What You’ll Do
The External Affairs Officer will develop and support effective media relationships to ensure awareness and understanding of SWA to a wide target audience. You will create meaningful dialogue with appropriate stakeholders, responding to media enquiries and drafting briefing notes, articles and web content aligned to SWA’s core values and strategic priorities.
What We Need
The successful candidate will have communications experience in a similar role, ideally with a sound understanding of parliamentary, political and policy processes. You will have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to translate complex information for appropriate media use. A sound understanding of social media, website, and content management systems, as well as impact evaluation and measurement, is essential for success in this position.

Cyrenians services recognise the links between substance misuse and homelessness and are committed in supporting people access the help they need to reduce harm to themselves and the community, and to maximise recovery.
Lothian and Edinburgh Abstinence Project (LEAP) is an intensive programme for up to 8 people who want to stop drinking or using drugs. The programme is delivered over 12 weeks and participants attend a structured group work programme Monday to Friday. Cyrenians are working alongside LEAP to provide a therapeutic residential community which participants stay in for the duration of the programme.
We are looking for a skilled and committed Key Workers to join our support team. This role will provide support and encouragement to participants out of hours.
Roles available are to cover:
Back shift: 33.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 3.30pm to 10.00pm), or
Weekends: 26 hours per week (Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am to 10.00pm), or
Night shift: 37 hours per week (over 3 days), or
Night shift: 13 hours per week (one night)

Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire and Community Solutions Programme which is the community capacity building and carer support arm of Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire have secured funding through the Scottish Government Support in the Right Direction fund to develop a project supporting people to access social and community care as well as local community supports and services in North Lanarkshire. The project is hosted and managed by North Lanarkshire Disability Forum (NLDF)
The project compliments and adds to existing local social work provision by focussing one to one support for people who are not eligible for a social care budget to ensure they are better supported within the community and are able to access and manage support that maximises their assets and helps meet personal outcomes. This post will run until March 2022 with a possible extension (funding dependant) extending the reach of the project across all localities within North Lanarkshire. We are looking for a strong communicator to strengthen our existing team in helping people through this difficult time by further developing our online groups and connecting people to other local resources, this involves having conversations around practical and emotional issues about community supports, a place to discuss the current climate and the issues for people with or without an SDS budget around a particular issue or topic, e.g. mental health, housing, employment, gardening, art. This role is to provide an opportunity for people to discuss issues in an informal way. The ideal person will also have experience of marketing and promoting projects to engage and encourage involvement of the target group. This post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme.
Are you good at working with people in crisis, do you have experience of providing one to one support if you do then our Duty worker role could be for you. WASLER have a 21 hours a week post funded until September 2021 (with the possibility of being extended beyond this) and are looking for a candidate with an understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women, children and young people who is able to listen to women and identify the support they need over the telephone and work with them to address these needs including advocating on their behalf.
As a Duty Support Worker you will provide a confidential, safe and supportive information service to women and agencies who contact Women’s Aid South Lanarkshire & East Renfrewshire (WASLER) through our crisis phone line and/or ‘drop in’ service.
The job involves ensuring that a high standard of crisis intervention is provided to women escaping, experiencing or requiring support with domestic abuse issues. This includes WASLER’s out-of-hours on call service provision.

About the Service
South Lanarkshire Council have secured funding from the Drug Death Taskforce and are working with TPS to deliver a flexible, rapid response service which offers assertive outreach to individuals in crisis or at risk of crisis out of hrs. The service will focus on providing interventions to prevent or manage crisis situation through additional ‘out of hours’ capacity to support existing statutory and commissioned services. The service will ensure that we prevent tenancy and placement breakdown, reduce harm both physical and psychological, prevent drug deaths and connect people into services in the community. Individuals who are at risk of crisis will be alerted to TPS and we will provide check in’s out of hrs to ensure they do not fall into crisis. Additionally, we will be alerted out of hrs to individuals who are in crisis and we will provide a range of interventions including
• Keeping people safe
• Preventing tenancy / placement breakdowns
• Harm reduction information and advice. Understanding how people ‘use’ alcohol and other drugs.
• Distribution of Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP) including new needles, foil, sharp bins etc. as part of harm reduction.
• Targeted distribution of naloxone (peer distribution model) to individuals and friends / family
• Immediate response pathway for near-fatal overdose
• Dry Blood Spot testing, where appropriate, for HIV, Hep B / C.
• Condom distribution
• Emergency food parcels
• Access to period products
• Identification of emergency accommodation if homeless or at risk of losing accommodation
• Engaging with family members out of hours to provide support to keep people safe.

Main duties and responsibilities
Support to people who use services - To:

Yoker Community Care for Elderly & Disabled aims to ensure that individuals that are elderly or experiencing physical and mental health issues can sustain an active life in their own homes as an alternative to full time health and/or care support. Based in Yoker Resource Centre, the Team Leader will work with staff, trainees and volunteers to address problems of social exclusion and isolation for disabled and elderly people enabling service users to participate in a wide range of community activities and services that will help improve their quality of life and support their ability to live independently.
Skills and Experience
Applicants are invited from those with leadership skills and a genuine commitment to understanding and working closely with people who are elderly or suffer sensory and/or physical impairment. Experience is preferable as is the ability to measure and match the needs of individuals at home or in the project premises. The post holder will require drive, initiative, and ability to communicate at all levels. The post demands supervision and arranging practical training for staff and voluntary workers, as well as the ability to promote and develop the needs for an integrated lifestyle for disabled and older people.
Genuine commitment and understanding of support towards residents in their homes or in the common facilities provided for their benefit is essential. Positive attitudes combined with a strong customer care approach are key qualities required. A willingness to tackle a wide range of tasks and work enthusiastically as part of a team is necessary.
Experience of needs assessment and working with support agencies to formulate a care plan would be an advantage as would an understanding of the emotional, physical and social needs of the elderly, disabled and their families.
