Established in 1978, Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) provides a support, information and advocacy service to all survivors aged 12 and over in Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian who have experienced recent and / or historic sexual violence, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation. We also work in schools and with young people across Edinburgh and the Lothians, and strategically with multi-agency partners, towards preventing sexual violence.
The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery and development of ERCC’s Young People and Students Service, which provides specialist counselling and support services, art psychotherapy, and advocacy as required to people aged 12-18 who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including, rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual bullying and harassment, stalking, commercial sexual exploitation and organised abuse.
You will work closely with the Senior Management Team to shape and implement a strategic service plan, with a strong focus on trauma-informed design, effective operational processes, and the wellbeing of both staff and service users.
A background and experience in a similar setting / previous role is essential.

What we are looking for....
We have an opening for a Young People’s Worker, to work 30 hours per week on a permanent basis. The team work no more than 4 days before a day off and currently have every second weekend off. Rotas are designed around the needs of the young people we care for and ensuring the wellness of the practitioners we employ. Late shifts are 2pm to 10pm. Early shifts are 7.30am to 3.30pm. Overnight sleep ins are part of the role, alongside an awake member of night staff. Shifts can be subject to change as and when required for the needs of the service.
Individuals need to bring a range of qualities to the role including being playful, warm and accepting and must be able to adapt their practice to appropriately meet the varying individual needs of each young person. This role can be challenging but is also immensely rewarding and provides postholders with rich opportunities to develop their own practice and understanding of the needs of children and young people with disabilities.
You must be comfortable working in a culture based on respect, integrity, innovation and the ability to challenge – both yourself and other people. We support our staff to be as effective as they can be through dedicated training and supervision. In return our staff act as exceptional role models supporting the children and young people, as well as sharing knowledge and learning with colleagues.
Ideally, you will have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above, or be willing to work to this requirement as per SSSC registration.

Our charity (previously known as Chip+) has been supporting families in the Highlands for over three decades. Our goal is to be the ‘go to’ organisation known for improving the lives of families in the Highlands by giving them confidence, empowering them to know their rights, know what questions to ask and have their voices heard. This is an exciting opportunity to come and join our team as a Residential Worker primarily based at Cauvin. Cauvin is not your typical residential house. Our caring space supports up to three mums and babies at any one time.
Our team work closely with mums and their babies to provide the advice and guidance they may need to build their attachment and bond with their child, to support their own individual health, wellbeing and independent living skills and ensuring that their babies own growth and developmental needs are being met. We work together with families, social work, health and other colleagues to ensure the strengths and voices of mums and babies are at the heart of all we do while the safety and welfare of the child is always maintained. We work closely with colleagues across the Trust to ensure we are taking a family and community-based approach to work and to create positive onward transitions for mothers and babies.
To support this, our residential role involves a shift pattern over a four-week rota, that requires weekend working, lone working and sleep-ins.
