At Glenrothes Foodbank, we don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

We are currently looking to appoint Trustees who have a similar passion. If you feel that you have the time, effort and skills to commit to making sure that those most at risk don't suffer from malnourishment we would like to hear from you. Currently we are interested in potential trustees who have experience or skills around the areas of estates management, charity law and financial oversight. However don’t let that list hold you back, if you have a burning passion and some skills to bring to the table why don’t you let us know.

Board members work collaboratively to guide the foodbank and carry out many different functions;

  • Shape priorities and vision for the foodbank
  • Engage with strategic planning
  • Developing action plans to move the foodbank forward
  • Ensuring that policies and procedure are in place and robust
  • Managing paid staff members
  • Making sure accounts are correct and monies spent well
  • Engaging and planning fundraising campaigns
  • Attend monthly meetings (currently over Zoom)

Potential board members will be expected to have views and values aligned with those of the Trussell Trust and Glenrothes Foodbank. These can be found here:
