DIMENSIONS –

The Post holder is responsible for:

• Recruitment and support of volunteer’s
• Recruitment of target number of participants
• Organising regular weekly led Cycles/walks in various areas within Glenboig and surrounding villages
• Record keeping and evaluation of the programme
• Taking bookings for our e-bike scheme

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• To develop and manage a programme of led cycles/walks, approved by the GDT Children & Families Co-ordinator
• To identify and organise appropriate training for volunteers
• To recruit, support and manage volunteer’s
• To investigate new cycling/walking routes and grade them accordingly
• To liaise with and encourage work with other relevant bodies appropriate to the post
• To market and promote the cycling/walking programme
• To ensure all health and safety aspects are complied with
• To keep records, monitor and evaluate the programme in line with the requirements of the principal funders and GDT
• To carry out any other duties appropriate to the post

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Care Manager you will:

• develop and manage the day to day Community Transport service
• identify and organise appropriate training for volunteers & staff
• recruit, support and manage volunteer’s
• research and secure appropriate grant funding
• ensure GDT Transport services operates efficiently and with a Low carbon footprint
• keep GDT Transport services abreast of eco policies and practices ensuring the fleet is reducing carbon emissions safely and efficiently through eco driving
• ensure maintenance and schedule checks in line with regulations.
• liaise with and encourage work with other relevant bodies appropriate to the post
• market and promote the the service Work directly with colleagues across the entire service ensuring full access to transport services.

Glenboig Development Trust is a community led organisation, based in Glenboig, North Lanarkshire We have been in existence for 20 years developing and delivering support mechanisms and activities to Young Families, Children and Youth, Vulnerable Adults, Older Adults, Employability, Post Office Services, General Shop, Café and Community Transport.

We are also the Lead organisation for Health & Social Care Integration through the Community Solutions Partnership for the Coatbridge Locality and work in partnership with NHS Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire Council, Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire and various 3rd Sector agencies.

We have recently moved into our new purpose-built facility in Glenboig and with this move we have expanded our services beyond Glenboig and Coatbridge.

We now have vacancy for 16 hrs post for Carer Team Leader.

This is a new and exciting role with in the organisation to support unpaid carers with the creation of two fortnightly support groups and a new Sitter Service to allow unpaid carers some respite from their caring role. You will develop and lead a new team of volunteers to support the groups and the Carer Sitter Service.

Duties of CHILDREN & FAMILIES COORDINATOR will include

• Planning & supporting personal and social development of young people from pre-school to age 26 yrs.
• Redress inequalities and empower individuals to understand and take action on
• Issues affecting their lives from health, education to unemployment, the environment and social and recreation
• Responding to needs and interests of local children and young people, encouraging them towards self-determination and increased self-confidence.
• Focus development on accommodated children & young people
• Working in partnership continue to develop the organization’s participation and development of 'The Promise'
• Support the development of Children & Young people’s mental health programmes.
• Seek and apply to funders and grants.
• Create and report to management and funders as required.
• Lead and manage a team of Youth leaders, sessional staff, and recruit and support volunteers.

• Managing and administration of youth and community projects and resources for children and young people from pre-school to age 18
• Deliver programmers via discussions, art-based activities community/environmental projects, residential activities, physical activities and health programmers
• Develop Forest Adventure Club giving access to all children and young people from pre-school-age 18
• Using interpersonal skills to befriend and support individual young people in different settings
• Line manage Team Leads and Sessional Youth Workers
• Assisting in recruiting, training and managing volunteers
• Liaising and networking with Social Work, Schools, Police and other agencies to address issues and promote opportunities for young people
• Working with young people to identify and develop projects in line with their needs
• To ensure maximum access for all children and young people to youth work provision
• Identifying and pursuing sources of funding for projects
• Identifying and pursuing sources of funding to continue full time Youth Development project
• To work evenings and weekends including residential as negotiated and agreed
• Represent the organisation on Partnership Boards working collectively to develop and support appropriate services for family & children as identified through Gap analysis
• Participate in the planning and delivery of GDT Community events with other team leads and staff
