To increase community capacity by organising an effective range of programmes and volunteering opportunities which contribute to our mission of empowering women.


Internal - organising and delivering a programme of opportunities within the Centre.

External - local authority, community organisations and networks

Responsible for:

  • Engaging women in the activities and opportunities offered within the centre and identifying and creating new opportunities to be involved
  • Identifying and developing of opportunities for volunteering
  • Developing the centre’s programme of activities and developing new initiatives for the centre .
  • Supporting and developing volunteers to contribute to the work of the Centre
  • Identifying training needs for volunteers and members of the Centre
  • Contribute to gathering data to measure effectiveness of the centre’s programme of activities
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Writing funding applications where appropriate

Accountable for:

  1. Delivery of an agreed schedule of volunteering programmes and opportunities
  2. Meeting targets for participation and engagement
  3. Working within agreed budgets and resources
  4. Gathering required data to monitor outputs and outcomes
  5. Promoting the transformational nature of our work with women

You will be:

  8. Ideally you will have a qualification in community development and/or experience of working in a community development setting
  9. Have experience of group work
