Seeking Board members — 3 positions available
At U-evolve we support young people aged 11-18 in North Edinburgh to build confidence, resilience and self belief. We work in some of the lowest SIMD (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2020) areas in Edinburgh and the young people we work with often experience socio-economic deprivation. Many are disengaged from education, experiencing mental health problems and relationship breakdowns. We believe all young people deserve happy and fulfilling futures, no matter where they are starting from.
This support has never been more needed, and we have seen a significant demand in our services as a result of the emotional pressures of Covid-19.
We are a grassroots charity committed to delivering incredible impact for young people. We are seeking new board members to help us drive forward our ambitious growth strategy and diversification, joining our recently appointed CEO to develop and implement the future work of U-evolve.
We welcome applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds who will add diverse perspectives and skills to U-evolve. We are particularly keen to see applications from those with strategic level experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Commercial or social enterprise
• Charity experience
Previous Board experience is not required, but proven experience in a leadership role is.

We deliver a pioneering blend of tailored, long term therapy, coaching and youth work to 11 to 18 year olds in North Edinburgh. Our work consistently brings strong and sustained benefits to the young person’s resilience, confidence and security in themselves.
We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer who will build on our achievements and lead us in the next stages of our development. This is a new role for us and we are seeking a strategic and inspirational leader who will work with the Board and partners to develop our future direction, influence key stakeholders and represent and promote the interests of the charity.
Are you an accomplished strategic thinker, financially astute with great operational skills?
As well as proven operational management experience and project/change management skills gained at a senior level, you have a flair for innovation when creating or developing services and are able to work collaboratively and cooperatively to improve and sustain outcomes. You also relish the challenge of making sure that the voice and experience of people who use our services is brought to the fore. You will have the confidence and communication skills to be an effective spokesperson and ambassador for U-evolve.

The young people we work with are often facing trauma, and may be disengaged from education. We believe in a preventative approach to supporting young people, and making improvements to their mental health and sense of self that last a lifetime.
We are looking to recruit a therapeutic coach to join our team as we grow our service. You will provide 1:1 and group support for young people, and training for frontline professionals. This is an exciting time to join a growing charity during a time when our services have never been more needed.
