We are looking for an experienced, skilled and creative colleague to help Visionary and our members generate income, develop opportunities and seek out great stuff to make our offering for members even more fantastic!

You will be confident in your own ability, secure in your knowledge but willing to learn more, resilient, curious, open to change, creative and innovative - with an eye for detail. You will have experience of building productive relationships, ideally in an income generation environment.

All Visionary posts are UK wide and full time. We are a home-based team with frequent travel and overnight stays (when it is safe to do so).

The Visionary ethos is based on sharing and connecting to inspire and influence the development of responsive and person-centred services.

This role will lead on creating new opportunities and collaborations for Visionary member and partner organisations and managing short term projects. You will support members with collaborative income generation and service development endeavours as well as linking them into local and national campaigns. To do well in this post, a few years under your belt in a senior role with a remit for collaborative development and campaigning would be helpful.

This role will be responsible for gathering data, listening to what our members tell us, analysing the information we gather and, with the team, using it to influence and inform the Visionary offer and how we deliver it. To enjoy this job and be good at it, you will be a good communicator, comfortable with data and have a high level of competency using a CRM – ideally Salesforce.

In addition to looking for people with lived experience of visual impairment, our recent skills audit identified that we need trustees with experience and knowledge of financial management, income generation, entrepreneurship, and innovation. As we are a UK wide organisation, we want to ensure all countries are represented on our board – at the moment, we are actively seeking at least one trustee who has knowledge and understanding of Scottish issues. All Visionary trustees are expected to have a good understanding of what good and effective governance is.

We know that our board is underrepresented by women, young people, and people from the LGBTQI+ and BAME communities and we want to change that.

Being a Visionary trustee is a voluntary role, however we do pay all reasonable costs incurred as part of the role. We need you to actively participate in four board meetings each year (3 online, one face to face). We want you to be involved with our strategic development and we estimate this will take about 20 hours of your time each year in addition to the meetings.
