A little bit about us
The Adventure Centre for Education (ACE) has been operating from Girvan and across the south west of Scotland for over fifteen years. We are a community based social enterprise charity that delivers a broad range of outdoor adventure, environmental and wellbeing activities. We work across the sectors including youth work, community, education and with the general public. We have developed many unique initiatives over the years in the furtherance of our mission and vision. As we expand and grow now is the time for us to have a dedicated funding manager to help us achieve our aspirations.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and play a key role in securing income to support and sustain our work across South West Scotland. Working within our management team, you will research and secure funding; communicating the impact of our work and amplifying the experiences of the incredible people we work with.
The new Fundraising manager will play an integral part in maximising Adventure Centre for Education (ACE) income. The post holder will be involved in raising funds from community, corporate and other sources to further the work of ACE and its role within the community. The post holder will contribute the development and implementation of operation plans in support of the organisation’s strategic aims, to ensure income growth.
You will work closely with the CEO and the rest of the ACE team to help raise the profile of ACE and its broad spectrum of outdoor and wellbeing work. Day to day you will be undertaking research on trust and grants opportunities. Completing applications, monitoring their progress and completing funding reports.
Other aspects may be supporting with comms work, including social media, with a specific focus on providing fundraising stories or content. You may also be seen out and about in the community connecting with supporters or undertaking some promotional work.
Our ideal candidate will be able to write engagingly about our work, with excellent communication and project planning skills, and the ability to build positive relationships. You will have a background in fundraising, whether this be in a voluntary or paid capacity. Due to this experience, you should have a good understanding of the Scottish fundraising landscape. You will be someone who thrives off connecting and speaking with supporters and members of the community. The ideal candidate will be confident in working towards fundraising targets and KPI’S.
