Braeburn Home is an independent care home for older people providing accommodation for nineteen people in a beautiful, homely house with a lovely garden.  The care provided is of the highest standard and the reports from the Care Inspectorate are consistently excellent.

Braeburn offers a home for life and is staffed by qualified nurses and social care workers under a Manager who ensures the smooth running of the home.  A Board of Directors is responsible for the overall management of the home.

Braeburn Home is an independent care home offering high quality nursing care. It is situated in a quiet residential area close to the Royal Botanic Garden. It offers care to older people who require nursing and social care and who will benefit from the support and companionship of other residents.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to help with the preparation, simple cooking and serving of food.

This post is for 22 hours per week on a permanent basis.

Working under the supervision of the Chef in Charge, the role mainly involves –

  • Basic preparation and cooking of breakfast and evening meals including the preparing of sandwiches, sweets and snacks.
  • Transporting and serving of food and beverages.
  • Undertaking dining room duties including setting up and clearing away of the dining area.

The successful candidate will be highly committed to providing quality service, and a responsible individual, who enjoys working in a family home atmosphere. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as an ability to work independently or as part of a team.

The working hours are 22 hours covering Saturday and Sunday.

Although training will be provided in all relevant tasks and sector-specific training will be provided through a combination of internal, external and online courses as required.

APVGwill be required for this post, along with a Right to Work in the UK. Candidates will also be required to provide proof of qualifications declared on the application.

Care Assistant

Braeburn Home is an independent care home offering high quality nursing care. It is situated in a quiet residential area close to the Royal Botanic Garden. It offers care to older people who require nursing and social care and who will benefit from the support and companionship of other residents.

We are looking for two Care Assistants that are committed to providing holistic, respectful, person centered care and support to our residents and their families.

One post is for 39 hours per week on a permanent basis, and we also require maternity cover for 19.5 hours per week until March 2020.

Working under the direction and guidance of a registered nurse, the role mainly involves providing care and support to our residents in a polite and professional manner.

This will include (but not limited to) :-

  • providing care and responding to residents needs whilst respecting and maintaining their rights to dignity and privacy
  • Help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment
  • Implement and update residents personal plans and other records in a clear and accurate manner as appropriate
  • Act as a key worker for a group of residents
  • Working within the care team assisting colleagues as and when required

The successful candidate will be highly committed to providing quality care, and a responsible individual, who enjoys working in a family home atmosphere. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as an ability to work independently or as part of a team.

The working hours are based on a rota system and requires a high degree of flexibility.

Although training will be provided in all relevant tasks and sector-specific training will be provided through a combination of internal, external and online courses as required. The post holder is required to register with the SSSC within six months from taking up the post, complying with their minimum qualification requirements for the post of Care Assistant.
