Braeburn Home is an independent care home for older people providing accommodation for nineteen people in a beautiful, homely house with a lovely garden.  The care provided is of the highest standard and the reports from the Care Inspectorate are consistently excellent.

Braeburn offers a home for life and is staffed by qualified nurses and social care workers under a Manager who ensures the smooth running of the home.  A Board of Directors is responsible for the overall management of the home.

Braeburn Home is an independent care home offering high quality nursing care. It is situated in a quiet residential area close to the Royal Botanic Gardens. We provide care to older people who require dedicated nursing and social care and who benefit from the support and companionship of other residents.

We are looking to recruit a full time Care Home Manager whose focus will be to co-ordinate and oversee the running of our care service in a professional and efficient manner.

You will have full responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Braeburn Home. You will lead delivery of a cost-effective and professional service focused on quality and a high standard of care, ensuring the Home consistently meets the current government healthcare legislation and regulations. You will achieve this through strong, people-management skills, as well as developing and implementing clear internal policies which promote good practice within the home.

This will include responsibility for managing budgets and resources, working in conjunction with the Accountant, and for the care of our residents in conjunction with the Clinical Lead. You will lead and support the recruitment, performance and ongoing development of our team of care professionals, administrative, and domestic staff.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with residents and their families is a key part of the role. You will also work closely with Board Trustees to build and promote the reputation of the home and to develop external relationships to support the services we provide.

The post holder will require to be registered with SSSC, complying with their minimum qualification requirements and ongoing training as detailed at the time of advertisement. Currently, as a registered care home manager with the SSSC you need to complete both a practice and a management qualification.

A PVG and references check is required for this post, along with a Right to Work in the UK. Candidates will also be required to provide proof of qualifications declared on the application.

Care Assistant

We are looking for two Care Assistants that are committed to providing holistic, respectful, person centered care and support to our residents and their families.

Both posts are for 39 hours per week on a permanent basis.

Working under the direction and guidance of a registered nurse, the role mainly involves providing care and support to our residents in a polite and professional manner.

This will include (but not limited to):

  • providing care and responding to residents needs whilst respecting and maintaining their rights to dignity and privacy
  • Help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment
  • Implement and update residents’ personal plans and other records in a clear and accurate manner as appropriate
  • Act as a key worker for a group of residents
  • Working within the care team assisting colleagues as and when required

The successful candidates will be highly committed to providing quality care, be responsible individuals who enjoy working in a family home atmosphere. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

The working hours are based on a rota system and requires a high degree of flexibility.

Training will be provided in all relevant tasks and sector-specific training will also be provided through a combination of internal, external and online courses as appropriate.

Registered General Nurse (RGN)

We are looking for a fully qualified and experienced RGN who is registered with the NMC to join our team. You will be part of a team providing frontline care and support to our residents and their families.

The working hours are 39 per week.

The main responsibilities of the role are:-

  • Assessing the needs of each resident and delivering the highest standard of care and professional service.
  • Ensuring each resident has an up to date and agreed care plan, regularly reviewing and updating as required to meet changing needs.
  • Participating fully in the overall care of the residents, contributing ideas and suggestions as appropriate.
  • Administering prescribed medication to residents and keeping all records and administration up to date.
  • Supporting, coaching and training Care Assistants and other staff as required.
  • Supporting and deputising for the Care Home Manager.

The successful candidate will be committed to providing quality care and enjoy working in a family care home atmosphere. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working alone when required.
