Edinburgh and Midlothian Offender Recovery Service (EMORS) is a transformative service that brings together prison and community work to support individuals throughout the Criminal Justice System, supporting them to achieve drug, alcohol and crime free lives.

Exciting opportunities have arisen to join our EMORS team, supporting the high-quality delivery of recovery focused interventions to service users in the criminal justice system affected by drug and alcohol issues also the provision of through care support to individuals leaving prison and returning to Edinburgh and Midlothian. The service delivers interventions in custody areas, prison and community, on a one to one basis and in group work settings.

A vacancy for a receptionist/administrator has arisen to join our EMORS team, supporting the high-quality delivery of recovery focused interventions to service users in the criminal justice system affected by drug and alcohol issues also the provision of through care support to individuals leaving prison and returning to Edinburgh and Midlothian.

The post holder will provide reception and administrative services to the EMORS team contributing towards its aims and objectives. They will also support the Team Leader, attending relevant meetings and minute taking as required, as well as providing timely reports to the commissioners and CGL.

Duties for the post include responsibility for front house activities, dealing with initial queries, welcoming clients and professionals into the service, signposting within the service and the community, also accurate information and data recording.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing administrative support in a service based organisation, a good knowledge of general office procedures, excellent IT literacy skills, solid numerical skills, and good organisational skills. They will also need good interpersonal skills as team working is essential in this role.

Within Edinburgh, CGL operate 3 locality based community services, providing recovery focused psychosocial interventions to service users experiencing drug and alcohol related issues.

In the community we work within a hub model with partners who include NHS Lothian, CEC Social Work and other voluntary agencies to ensure individualised packages of care to enable service users to achieve their recovery goals.

We have an opportunity to join our team in the South West of Edinburgh, supporting the high-quality delivery of recovery focused intervention to service users. Services are delivered from our office base in the South West and on an outreach basis in a variety of venues across the locality. Support is provided in a one to one and groupwork setting.

The successful candidates will have an awareness of the effects of substance misuse issues, excellent communication skills and a practical approach to facilitating service users access to and retention in service. Duties will include; carrying out initial assessments at drop-in, practical support and co-facilitation of groups as well as supporting recovery coordinators.

Also necessary is a commitment to multi-agency working, excellent communication skills, experience of working within an outcomes-focused approach and a practical approach to facilitating service user involvement.
