Our innovative service in West Lothian provides a range of interventions to individuals within the area who are affected by substance misuse and multiple complex issues that can exclude them from accessing the support package that they need.

Service provision includes assertive outreach to support individuals to access appropriate care packages. The team deliver interventions in a variety of locations including custody suites, prison, hospital and local communities

The successful candidates will have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field. Also necessary is a commitment to multi-agency working, excellent communication skills and experience of working within an outcomes-focused approach

Support Worker

Within Edinburgh, CGL operate 3 locality based community services, providing recovery focused psychosocial interventions to service users experiencing drug and alcohol related issues.

In the community we work within a hub model with partners who include NHS Lothian, CEC Social Work and other voluntary agencies to ensure individualised packages of care to enable service users to achieve their recovery goals.

We have an opportunity to join our team in the South West of Edinburgh, supporting the high-quality delivery of recovery focused intervention to service users. Services are delivered from our office base in the South West and on an outreach basis in a variety of venues across the locality. Support is provided in a one to one and groupwork setting.

The successful candidates will have an awareness of the effects of substance misuse issues, excellent communication skills and a practical approach to facilitating service users access to and retention in service. Duties will include; carrying out initial assessments at drop-in, practical support and co-facilitation of groups as well as supporting recovery coordinators.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team, leading the high-quality delivery of recovery focused interventions. The Locality Manager will ensure a shared achievement of goals for all services in Edinburgh and Lothians,

Reporting to the Services Manager, you will support the strategic and operational leadership for the service, working with senior members of a range of key stakeholders and partner organisations.

You will have experience of managing contracts, understanding of social care and criminal justice systems, including in depth knowledge of prison and community systems and practices within Scotland. Experience of effective partnership working at a senior level, including superior negotiation skills and relationship building to forge collaborative relationships. Experience of strategic planning, project development, innovation and implementation.

Experience of leadership including staff supervision, appraisal and development, data collection systems, report writing and IT systems and the ability to identify service gaps and areas of development and adopt a solution focused and open-minded approach.
