Area Manager

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our well-established Area Management Team who provide support and leadership to our services across Scotland.

The post holder will be based in Glasgow and have responsibility for managing and developing Community Lifestyle’s and Key’s services in a designated area within the city. You will work as an integral part of our exciting and vibrant Community Lifestyles and Key (Glasgow) Consortium where you will provide strong and effective leadership that achieves positive outcomes for the people we support and ensures high quality and creativity in personalised service development and delivery.

Applicants must have significant experience in developing and managing flexible, responsive, person-centred social care services along with the personal and professional skills to work at both an operational and strategic level. You will have excellent communication skills-both written and verbal, with the ability to motivate, support and connect with others.

As the post holder will also be one of three Registered Managers for Community Lifestyles and Key services in Glasgow, you must already hold a level 7 practitioner qualification to meet the requirements of the Care Inspectorate. You should also either have or be able to complete the relevant qualifications to enable your registration with SSSC.

The role will involve regular travel, mainly around the Glasgow area, and some support to teams out with normal office hours.

The successful candidates will join an established and extremely supportive team of Support and Development Managers and Assistant Support and Development Managers based together in our Glasgow Office. You will be supported by your Support & Development Manager, to take on responsibility for managing a number of established teams and developing new services in a designated area, working collaboratively with their colleagues.

We are currently seeking two highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.

Applicants must have experience of managing social care services that support disabled

people in their own homes and communities and must be able to:

• Demonstrate a commitment to individuals, enabling each person to live a fulfilled life and achieve their dreams and aspirations with a focus on outcomes.

Assistant Staff Development Officer

Community Lifestyles was created in the 1990s to offer individualised support to the growing number of people with more complex needs who were leaving long-stay institutions. Working in a consortium arrangement with Key in Glasgow, Community Lifestyles now works alongside disabled people, a number of whom have complex communication and health needs, supporting them to live good lives in their own homes and communities across the city.

We are looking for someone who has facilitated training or supported learning in a social care setting. As an enthusiastic individual committed to ongoing learning and development, joining our well-established management and development team in Glasgow, you will:

  • have experience of working with disabled people in a social care setting
  • deliver core induction and ongoing training to ensure staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality, person centred support
  • as a member of our Positive Behaviour Support Team, provide human rights-based training and guidance to managers and teams working alongside individuals with complex support needs to achieve their unique outcomes

Staff Development Officer

Working in a consortium arrangement with Key in Glasgow, Community Lifestyles now works alongside disabled people, a number of whom have complex communication and health needs, supporting them to live good lives in their own homes and communities across the city.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly experienced social care trainer, who can join our well-established management and development team in Glasgow, facilitating induction and ongoing learning activities to support staff. You will work with teams around people’s specific needs, including positive behaviour support, having previously supported teams to review and adapt their practice to assist individuals to achieve their outcomes.

As a member of the wider team, you will work collaboratively to deliver and further develop our learning and development framework and SSSC qualification strategy, taking the lead on particular practice areas for both organisations.

You will possess a SSSC recognised professional qualification (Social Work, Nursing, SVQ3 or equivalent).and ideally have undertaken a recognised trainer course. A recognised Positive Behaviour Support or similar qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.

As part of our well-established staff development team, you will:

• deliver core induction and ongoing training to ensure staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality, person centred support

• provide human rights-based Positive Behaviour Support training and guidance to managers and teams working alongside individuals with complex support needs to achieve their unique outcomes

• be the lead for a particular practice development aspect

Team Leader

Due to continued service development, we are currently looking to recruit Team Leaders who are highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic social care practitioners with an active commitment to personalisation.

In addition to providing direct support to individuals, some of whom may have complex needs, the main responsibilities of the Team Leader role include helping to plan, co-ordinate and monitor service delivery to individuals and to support, supervise and manage workers providing support to these individuals.

We are looking for applicants who are able to;

  • Make a commitment to individuals, enabling each person we support use their talents, fulfil their dreams and be in control of their life.
  • Work creatively and flexibly in their day to day work to provide positive leadership and support to their team, prioritising and delegating effectively
  • Work with our Community Development Workers and others to assist in harnessing community assets and maximising independence.
  • Commit to their own learning and development.

The post includes evening and weekend working, sleep over provision/waking night support, as well as some support to workers out with “normal working hours”.
