The Energy Agency has held the contract to manage the Home Energy Scotland advice centre for South West Scotland since 2008. The South West centre is one of the network of five centres in Scotland; these are funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust.

Our Home Energy Scotland South West Advice Centre covers the local authority areas of North, South and East Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway.

The Energy Agency delivers a variety of contracts, including Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland: Area Based Schemes for local authorities in south west Scotland and education work covering all aspects of advice on energy efficiency, micro generation and sustainability in North, South and East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. The Energy Agency is committed to reducing our own energy, water and materials waste, thereby improving our overall efficiency.

The Partnerships Co-Ordinator is a member of the advice centre’s Marketing and Partnerships Team and plays a role in the delivery of the partnership, communities, events and outreach activities for the advice centre.

The Customer Service Advisor will be employed on the Home Energy Scotland contract, based at the Energy Agency and will promote energy efficiency messages to householders in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway.

You’ll be part of a supportive team in a small but busy call centre. This is a target focussed environment which is mainly phone based dealing with both inbound and outbound advice calls. You will support our customers by providing them with independent and impartial advice about how to keep warm and save energy and money in their homes. In addition to this we operate an extensive events calendar throughout the year covering a wide variety of events across the area where you will deliver energy efficiency advice face to face with customers.

Our aim is to deliver a world class advice service and everyone has a part to play in that. But don’t worry, you don’t need to know everything, you bring the right attitude and we provide the training. We have an extensive 6-8 week training plan which includes a City & Guilds and SQA qualification to ensure you have all the knowledge you need to advise our customers.

Primary Purpose: The post of the Home Renewables Officer will form part of an existing team delivering effective and informative advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy and transport energy to householders. In addition to general advice, the role will also involve assisting householders to identify, evaluate and install micro-renewable and other microgeneration technologies to realise associated carbon savings as well as assist with hard to treat properties.

The Home Renewables Officer will be based at the Energy Agency and will promote microgeneration messages in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway.

The Energy Agency delivers a variety of contracts, including Business Energy Scotland, Home Energy Scotland and the Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland: Area Based Schemes for local authorities in south west Scotland and education work covering all aspects of advice on energy efficiency, micro generation and sustainability in North, South and East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. The Energy Agency is committed to reducing our own energy, water and materials waste, thereby improving our overall efficiency.

This role will be part of Business Energy Scotland and will deliver impartial advice and support to Scottish SMEs. This support will help SMEs to install energy efficiency, low carbon heat and renewables technologies to realise carbon, cost, and energy savings.

You will work closely with Scottish SMEs to help identify carbon, cost and energy saving opportunities and providing technical support to overcome barriers to the installation of low carbon technologies such as heat pumps and heat pump enabling measures such a building fabric insulation.

Advice and support will also be provided through a wider range of technologies to SMEs, helping business to save energy and reduce the cost of energy bills. This will be done through 1-2-1 conversations, in-person events, online webinar training and desk top reviews of technical specifications.

Extra information:

The Grade of this post is Grade 1 / level 7 and the annual salary is from £27,357 - £28981 Please note this post is temporary until 31 March 2023, with possible extension.

The Area Based Schemes are energy efficiency programmes funded by Scottish Government, typically large construction projects involving the installation of external wall insulation applied to multiple houses of mixed tenures.

Introduction

The Energy Agency requires an experienced Project Liaison Officer to join an existing team delivering Area Based Schemes (ABS) in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway.

The Project Liaison Officer will work with a team of Project Coordinators and Projects Assistant delivering energy efficiency programmes on behalf of Councils.

The Project Liaison Officer will assist the team in managing customer relations by helping to support and add value to communication activities between householders and contractors. The role involves assistance, team working, prioritising and organising tasks.

The Project Liaison Officer will also maintain a working knowledge of energy efficiency programmes and assist with the development of high-quality projects such as LA Flex Schemes under ECO-4 and any new work streams.
