South Ayrshire Women’s Aid provides information, support, advocacy and refuge for women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse. We are a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee.
The post holder will provide services to children and young people with experience of domestic abuse within refuge accommodation and throughout South Ayrshire area. These services are delivered:
Qualification requirements – a relevant childcare qualification at level 6 or above to meet registration requirements of the SSSC.
A full driving licence is required as is the ability to travel throughout South Ayrshire.

The purpose is to provide a range of information, advocacy and face to face support services to women that access the service independently or by referral and to deliver this service in an outreach capacity within South Ayrshire. Participation in an On Call rota for families living in our refuge accommodation.
All staff are expected to promote equality and anti-discriminatory practice and to work with women who may have multiple and complex needs.

Purpose of the Post:
Ensure the smooth running of the refuge with particular regard to maintaining a comfortable standard of accommodation and the provision of a support service for women accessing our refuge.
Provide follow on and Outreach support to vulnerable women within South Ayrshire.
The post holder will work with a range of agencies and multi- disciplinary partnerships with a focus on improving outcomes for women and their families.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensure refuge accommodation is safe and to a reasonable standard.
Liaise with the relevant agencies for homeless accommodation.
Deliver support services to women
Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of our refuges.
Work with women to identify their needs, goals and to make informed choices.
Undertake support planning and risk assessment in consultation with women
