We are a Church of Scotland congregation. Our leadership team is traditionally known as a Kirk Session. We have around 28 elders who make up this team.
We believe that every member of the congregation is called to share in the ministry. This could be in an overseas programme, a national project, serving the local community or living out gospel values in their everyday lives at work and at home. Our work patterns and job titles may be varied but we are all called to the vocation of discipleship.
St Andrews Church of Scotland, Bo’ness seeks to appoint a Youth and Community Project Leader to run the Avenue programme, which aims to foster their social, moral, emotional and spiritual development.
The position will be for 37.5 hours per week, which will include evening and weekend work. The starting salary is £25,000. The job will entail working with young people in the Bo’ness community. The programme emphasizes the value of the individual and the needs of the vulnerable and seeks to develop their role in the church and wider community, giving young people a greater sense of self-worth and confidence.
The applicant must be a committed Christian with a live church connection, which is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
