· Skilled and experienced in aspects of the historic environment, leadership, marketing and communications, strategic thinking and fundraising, or individuals keen to develop in these areas

Edinburgh World Heritage is an independent charity with the aim of ensuring the city’s World Heritage status is a dynamic force that benefits everyone. Our mission is to connect people to their heritage in everything we do – whether through the conservation of historic buildings, delivering improvements to the public realm, or engaging people directly with the rich heritage of their city.

We are seeking new trustees with drive and enthusiasm to join our Board at an exciting moment for our organisation. We also welcome applications from young people or those interested in applying for their first trusteeship. Appropriate support, including training, will be given.

As a trustee you will be responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and stewardship of public and charitably given funds, supporting and adding value to the work of its professional team in conservation, engagement and capacity building.

Board meetings occur five times a year. Board trustees are also expected to play a role in at least one the organisation’s committees or groups.
