Welfare Rights and Money Advice Team

The Advice Team provides a welfare rights and money advice service to tenants and other residents living in the Southside areas of operation. The work with the wider community is funded by the Big Lottery and has provided an opportunity to develop the involvement of volunteers in delivering this key service.

We are seeking a dynamic with skills and experience to help develop a range of volunteer roles as part of Southside Housing Association’s role in local communities.

As Volunteer Coordinator you will manage all elements of volunteering within the Welfare Rights and Money Advice Team as well as provide support and guidance to other colleagues engaged with volunteers.

The role involves assessing and meeting the service needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers.

As Volunteer Coordinator you will support and develop volunteers and their relationships with employees and service users of the service. You will also monitor, evaluate and accredit volunteers.

This post is funded by the Big Lottery and is for a fixed term to 7.12.19. The post is offered on a part time (21 hours per week) for a fixed term to 7.12.19

Facilities Officer (Mobile Team)

Southside Housing Association Ltd is a charitable community controlled housing organisation. We own and manage approximately 2,200 houses and through our own factoring company, SFARS, provide a factoring service to a further 800 houses.

Reporting to the Concierge Manager, the Mobile Facilities Officer will help deliver a comprehensive Estates Management service to the Association’s residents and properties by carrying out a wide range of duties – gardening, common area cleaning, maintenance, bulk removal, gritting etc.

Previous experience delivering an estate management service within Social Housing or similar is essential.

The post is Monday to Friday (8.00am to 4.00pm).

In addition we also provide a wide range of community support services including welfare rights and money advice, care and repair services and an expansive community development programme.

Southside Housing Association are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a broad skill set and experience to help maintain the delivery and management of a range of community focussed capital projects across our neighbourhoods. The post will offer an exciting and challenging opportunity to work on a portfolio of projects that will have a positive impact on our neighbourhoods and the residents living within them. We will consider secondment opportunities.

As Community Projects Manager you will work collaboratively and innovatively with the local community, consultants, other organisations, SHA colleagues and funders to ensure the successful implementation of a range of community focussed capital projects.

As well as managing existing funding commitments the role will involve seeking further funding to deliver existing projects and new projects which arise.

Excellent interpersonal and reporting skills are essential to the role.

This post is covering a maternity leave and is fixed term until 30th September 2010. The post is offered on a part time basis (21 hours per week) with flexibility of days.
