Southside Housing Association Ltd is a charitable community controlled housing organisation. We own and manage approximately 2,200 houses and through our own factoring company, SFARS, provide a factoring service to a further 800 houses.

Reporting to the Concierge Manager, the Mobile Facilities Officer will help deliver a comprehensive Estates Management service to the Association’s residents and properties by carrying out a wide range of duties – gardening, common area cleaning, maintenance, bulk removal, gritting etc.

Previous experience delivering an estate management service within Social Housing or similar is essential.

The post is Monday to Friday (8.00am to 4.00pm).

GLASGOW CARE & REPAIR

Glasgow Care & Repair is a city wide service managed by Southside Housing Association. This post offers an opportunity to be part of a forward thinking team making a positive difference to people’s lives.

The service delivers handyperson and advice services to older people and people with disabilities living throughout Glasgow.

We now wish to recruit to add to our growing team as we begin to develop and deliver services to a wider range of customers.

We are seeking an experienced tradesperson to join the team as a Handyperson to increase our workforce to provide a flexible, responsive and effective service. The service supports older people and people with disabilities to remain safely at home and to facilitate their discharge from hospital by providing practical support and assistance. The successful candidate will have three years full time building trade experience, a relevant trade apprentice and relevant qualification e.g. City & Guilds, SVQ in a relevant trade or discipline, or qualified by significant relevant experience and hold a full clean driving licence.

A PVG Check will be requested for the successful applicant.

Welfare Rights and Money Advice Team

The Advice Team provides a welfare rights and money advice service to tenants and other residents living in the Southside areas of operation. The work with the wider community is funded by the Big Lottery and has provided an opportunity to develop the involvement of volunteers in delivering this key service.

We are seeking a dynamic with skills and experience to help develop a range of volunteer roles as part of Southside Housing Association’s role in local communities.

As Volunteer Coordinator you will manage all elements of volunteering within the Welfare Rights and Money Advice Team as well as provide support and guidance to other colleagues engaged with volunteers.

The role involves assessing and meeting the service needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers.

As Volunteer Coordinator you will support and develop volunteers and their relationships with employees and service users of the service. You will also monitor, evaluate and accredit volunteers.

This post is funded by the Big Lottery and is for a fixed term to 7.12.19. The post is offered on a part time (21 hours per week) for a fixed term to 7.12.19
