Engagement Officer

As part of the Fundraising Team you will play a key role in the development and implementation of Project Trust’s fundraising activities. A central element of this post is to implement the fundraising strategy and take a lead role in maximising core and restricted income from charitable trusts, grants and statutory funders.

Volunteer, Schools & Communications Coordinator

Project Trust is an educational charity based on the Hebridean Isle of Coll. Since 1967 we have sent over 7000 Volunteers to Africa, Asia and the Americas to a wide range of long-term volunteering projects including teaching, social care work, outdoor education and community development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Volunteer, Schools and Communications Officer to join the Marketing, Recruitment & Communications Team to play a key role in the implementation of Project Trust’s marketing activities. A central element of this post is to implement the communications strategy, with a focus on social media and our website, as well as the recruitment of Volunteers through face-to-face presentations. The successful applicant will have demonstrable knowledge of social media marketing and excellent communication skills.

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • Lead the delivery and implementation of the communications strategy and calendar
  • Generate, co-ordinate, and support colleagues to produce high quality, impactful content for segmented audiences across relevant digital and off-line channels
  • Monitor and evaluate Project Trust’s external communications
  • Work with the Senior IT Support Officer to oversee, plan, develop and update website content
  • Recruit Volunteer candidates through delivery of inspiring presentations in schools and youth organisations

Essential skills & experience include:

  • Recognised qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in the execution of marketing and communications plans
  • Ability to produce and edit video content
  • Understanding of the role of social media in engaging different audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to communicate with a range of audiences
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations to a range of stakeholders, including young people, with an ability to motivate and inspire others

The role is based in the Project Trust office on the Isle of Coll.
