Community Facilitator

Columba 1400 is a charity and social enterprise based in Scotland. The purpose of the organisation is to help young people discover their potential, either by working directly with them or by working with the key adults in the lives. This new role will support the delivery of Columba 1400’s Leadership Academies for Young People, and their Parents and Families, to help participants realise their true potential. Duties will include supporting and facilitating sessions, liaising with participants and partners and helping gather and capture information on all aspects of Columba 1400’s work. To secure this post you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as good knowledge of issues facing young people. Ideally you will have experience of working with hard to reach groups and be looking to take the next step in your career within a dynamic and innovative charitable organisation.

We have created a new role that will lead on the evaluation of Columba 1400’s impact on the lives of young people across Scotland and the adults around them. This role will deliver high quality evaluation data alongside qualitative evidence across a broad spectrum of Columba 1400’s work, including Leadership Academies for Young People, Head Teachers, Teachers, Parents, and Professionals within Children and Families Services. The role holder will have remit for ensuring the quality of evidence produced is of the highest standard and will contribute to continuous learning and improvement of Columba 1400’s work.

This means everything we do is about quality, including our business operations, ensuring high quality at all times and providing excellent support through efficient business management, scheduling, office management, administration, monitoring and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Quality management - Overseeing business operating procedures that provide the best experience for young people and the adults in their lives
  • Scheduling of sessions for Columba 1400’s facilitation team based in Edinburgh/Central Belt.
  • Diary management of Head of Communities and Head of Innovation
  • Booking travel, accommodation and venues to support the delivery of our Leadership Academies
  • Liaising with contacts within partner organisations as well as adult participants to arrange meetings, sessions and consent forms as required
  • Administration support for Edinburgh based team including support with formatting and production of documents.
  • Office management to include arranging catering for meetings as required, ordering/ purchasing office supplies and liaising with building management.
  • Minute Taking for meetings as required
  • Support our Monitoring and Evaluation framework to ensure all data and evidence is captured and stored.
  • Updating records on our database for events and sessions.
  • Overseeing the preparation of information packs and other materials required for the delivery of our Leadership Academies for young people and the key adults in the lives
  • Supporting the development of Columba 1400’s Alumni Network through events and communication
  • Purchasing equipment for programmes
  • Management of volunteers as required
  • Coordination and scheduling of CPD requirements for team members
  • Liaise and attend meetings with team members to perform duties and to enhance business and organisational development

The Head of Placed Based Partnership’s role is responsible for supporting these partnerships to achieve their strategic objectives as a key member of the partnership management and delivery team.

These partnerships aim to ensure that all families receive the right support and help at the right time within their own communities. This gives the families the support they need for their overall wellbeing and capabilities so they can flourish.
