RASAC P&K has been on the go for ten years, and has developed from an attic space run by a few dedicated volunteers to the centre we are now with 13 members of staff and many wonderful volunteers. We are committed to challenging gender-based violence and recognise that sexual violence is both a cause and consequence of gender inequality in our society. We offer free and confidential support to anyone who identifies as a woman age 12+ years and boys 12-18 years who has experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. We offer support regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, transgender identity, age, disability, and religious and cultural background. We also, through our RASAC Youth Initiative, work with young people age 12-18 across Perth & Kinross delivering a series of prevention workshops in schools and community settings as well as deliver training to professionals.

Young People’s Therapeutic Support Worker

The Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre Perth & Kinross are looking for a highly motivated and committed worker with a proven track record of providing therapeutic support to young people affected by trauma. This post, funded by Children in Need until September 2021, involves the provision of therapeutic support, information and advocacy services to young survivors age 12-18. Experience of delivering one to one support and/or counselling is essential alongside experience of assessing and responding to risk in relation to sexual abuse and exploitation. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders is necessary. We require female applicants only and are exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
