Spire View Housing Association is a Registered Social Landlord with 557 rented homes, and 13 factored owner occupiers/sharing owners. We operate in Royston in the North East of Glasgow. We have a unique staff service sharing arrangement with our neighbours at Copperworks Housing Association which incorporates a further 270 homes and 81 factored owners.
We have created this new senior role in order to bring a number of key finance activities together in house for the first time. As our new Finance Manager, you have the unique opportunity to help shape and develop the future of the finance function across both Spire View and Copperworks. You will play a key role as a member of the senior management team to deliver our core values in practice and provide our customers with a great place to live and a commitment to ensuring value for money in all we do.
Our Finance Manger must be able to demonstrate core competencies across a broad range of accountancy tasks, such as strategic financial planning, treasury management, effective budget management, creating financial reports and critical risk analysis. We work in a regulated environment and we are managed by a passionate voluntary Committee. Our Finance Manager will play a key role in ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory requirements and that our Management Committee has the right information and the right professional support to plan effectively for the future. To succeed in the role, you will be a confident communicator and be able to demonstrate a solid team working ethic. The role is also responsible for the management of a small staff team.
We offer generous conditions of service, including a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with Life Assurance Cover, 40 days leave (including 15 public holidays).
Spire View Housing Association (SVHA) is a community-based housing association with a wider remit to enable the regeneration of the Roystonhill area. In 2019, we opened the Roystonhill Community Hub, which currently has approximately 2,000 people using it on a monthly basis and is host to a variety of activities and services.
This project is a partnership between Spire View, Copperworks and Blochairn Housing Associations and is available to all households, regardless of tenure. The role will ensure that support is available for the Royston community most vulnerable to the growing impact of energy consumption and fuel prices.
The Energy Advisor, with the support of two Energy Support Assistants ( 1FTE) will provide a service that enables people to access support through a variety of methods, including: community drop-ins, household support and advice, small scale interventions and participation in workshops. We are looking for a new team member to establish and lead this programme. You will be based within the Roystonhill Community Hub (roystonhillcommunityhub.org.uk) and develop and deliver the Royston Community Energy Service which aims to reduce fuel poverty through embedding energy efficiency advice, support and advocacy within our wider community support services. This service will complement wider community staff based within the Hub, these include a Volunteer Coordinator, Volunteer Assistant and a Digital Engagement Officer
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) and may include evening and weekend work.
