Project Manager

The project manager is the person who is responsible for making sure a project is delivered on time, on budget and within scope. So, to be a good project manager, you’ll need to be a skilled planner with a real passion for organising people and resources.

All of the project’s stakeholders will look to the project manager to make sure what was promised will actually be delivered. This means you’ll need to manage expectations if issues crop up along the way, which may affect the delivery timeline or project costs.

We are looking for a responsible Project Manager to administer and organise all types of projects, from simple activities to more complex plans.

The Project Manager will manage a team of staff and volunteers, to ensure the smooth operation of Clyde Shopmobility, along with general administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries.

Salary and hours

The Project Manager will work 35 hours each week, working on a flexible basis to accommodate the needs of the service. This may mean attending evening meetings or working on a Saturday. The salary will start at £24,000 per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Identify resources and assign responsibilities
  • Manage day to day operational aspects of the projects
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current and appropriately stored
  • Works closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects
  • Understand basic revenue models, meets financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures
  • Submits project status reports to stakeholders, review budgets, plans, anticipates and reacts to change

Skills and Qualities required

  • Proven years of experience as a project manager or project coordinator

  • Proficiency in appropriate software required for the position
  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
  • An ability to prepare appropriate documentation to comply with project regulations and requirements

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong service user-facing and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of grant applications
