Inverclyde Carers Centre is looking for a dynamic new manager. This is your opportunity to join a vibrant and well respected third sector organisation. Carer Support Team Leader

Inverclyde Carers Centre is a well-respected and valued third sector organisation supporting unpaid carers. We are excited to be expanding our team and are looking to recruit to the new post of Carer Support Team Leader.

This person will be an experienced team leader who will support our dedicated Carer Support staff and have an opportunity to really make a difference to Inverclyde's Carers by enhancing our already high quality service.

To build capacity within our Carer support team, enabling the organisation to be more responsive to the needs of Carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • To raise awareness of Carers rights and ensure all Carers are offered an Adult Carer Support Plan or referred on as appropriate.
  • To ensure appropriate and effective support is delivered based on a thorough and accurate assessment of Carer needs.
  • To provide support to Carers with complexed caring situations where needed.
  • To provide leadership, day to day management and guidance to Carer support team
  • To provide formal monthly 1:1 support and supervision
  • To provide or arrange opportunities for peer support, coaching and training.
  • To support staff in developing positive relationships with other organisations.
  • To monitor referrals and support activity across the team to ensure workloads are sustainable and healthy
  • To help the organisation develop new and existing processes to evidence the impact of our work.
  • To work on own initiative and when required to seek guidance from the Manager.

Personal Specification - Essential

  • A good understanding of what it means to be a Carer and the impacts this can have.
  • Knowledge of Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and other key legislation.
  • Experience of, and ability to, inspire, motivate and influence others.
  • Committed to continuous improvement driven by listening to feedback, responding to needs and then developing and piloting ideas.
  • Self-motivated with confidence to demonstrate initiative, make and follow through decisions, and to recognise when plans need to change.
  • Experience of delivering projects with specific outputs and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to develop creative and imaginative ways to support Carers.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Commitment to own continuous professional development.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

Personal Specification - Desirable

  • Established networks within Inverclyde public, private and third sector.
  • Direct experience of supporting unpaid Carers.
