Through management of a team of area managers, the Scotland Network Lead will ensure the food banks in our network get the support they need to deliver emergency food, while we work together to achieve our vision to end the need for food banks altogether. Using strategic, negotiation and partnership skills, the Scotland Network Lead will manage our work in Scotland to support the food banks in our network to reduce the need for their services locally. This role also provides crucial support to and oversight of food bank operations across Scotland, including quality assurance and risk management.
The Head of Scotland is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks in Scotland. Scotland currently leads the way in having a rights-based, progressive agenda to ending the need for food banks, but there is much to do to ensure political intentions become a reality. This new role will direct Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs work in Scotland, lead our Scotland team as they support our network of food banks and work strategically with key partners to tackle the underlying reasons why people need to come to food banks.

The Trussell Trust is looking for a new Area Manager to join our expanding team in Scotland. The role is full-time and fixed term for 2 years with a salary of £36,050 per annum plus benefits .
The Area Manager will ensure the delivery of vision of the Trussell Trust to end hunger in the UK by: Delivering assistance and services to the foodbanks and other organisations through individual meetings, Quality Assurance and development visits, regional clusters and training sessions and national conferences.
Through management of the policy and public affairs function in Scotland, the Policy & Public Affairs Manager (Scotland) will ensure the Trussell Trust strengthens its influence in Scotland and creates the change needed to end the need for food banks. Using specialist policy knowledge about the structural causes of poverty and hunger in Scotland and the UK, and sound political and procedural knowledge, the Policy & Public Affairs Manager (Scotland) will be translating evidence into clear policy asks, and managing advocacy strategies to achieve policy change at different levels of government, with a particular focus on the Scottish Parliament.
