Ceartas is an independent professional advocacy service which works with all people aged 16 and over in East Dunbartonshire.
We are currently recruiting for the following positions: Dementia Link Worker 28 hours. £21,500 - £26,875K (pro rata)
The post holder will work to develop awareness of independent advocacy; services and supports for people affected by dementia in East Dunbartonshire through the provision of individual and group support utilising a peer support model.

The post holder will be responsible for implementing the strategic goals and objectives of Ceartas.
The role includes, holding an individual advocacy caseload along with: one to one support, supervision and appraisal of advocacy workers, participation in the allocation of casework (professional and volunteer), assisting and supporting the development of advocacy services including specific projects.
The job description will be supported by objectives agreed in consultation between the Chief Officer and the post holder in line with the business plan.

Ceartas has a strong board of volunteer Directors / Trustees, with a wide range of skills and experience that bring strong governance and direction to the organisation. Being a volunteer on our Board is an unpaid role that requires a degree of commitment, and as such we do not expect Board members to stay in post indefinitely.

The post holder will provide independent advocacy support on a one to one and collective basis. The advocacy worker has a key role within the Ceartas team, undertaking a range of advocacy services which may include empowering, informing, enabling and representing service users in a variety of settings.
A Bite and a Blether is a partnership between Ceartas and East Dunbartonshire Citizen’s Advice Bureau (EDCAB) funded by the Scottish Government’s Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund initially for one year.
The post holder will coordinate “A Bite and A Blether”, a peer support group offering a relaxed and informal setting where people come together over lunch to access peer support alongside a range of activities and information designed to enhance their mental health and wellbeing and to reduce social isolation and loneliness.
The post holder will work in partnership with Ceartas, EDCAB and other third sector partners to promote referrals into the group.
The post holder will be based between Ceartas and EDCAB offices
Ceartas is an independent professional advocacy service which works with all people aged 16 and over in East Dunbartonshire. We are currently recruiting for the following position: Fundraising and Finance Assistant
The post holder will provide assistance and support to the Management team in all aspects of fundraising, including events, funder research, and applications and reporting. They will provide support with internal and external communications including maintaining and updating Ceartas social media and website (WordPress). The post holder will also provide generalised and specific financial and admin support to the Business Support Lead.

The post holder will provide independent advocacy support on a one to one and collective basis. The advocacy worker has a key role within the Ceartas team, undertaking a range of advocacy services which may include empowering, informing, enabling and representing service users in a variety of settings.
You do not necessarily have to have experience of delivering independent advocacy but you will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the role of independent advocacy and its guiding principles. Full training and support will be provided.
