REACH Lanarkshire Autism
REACH Lanarkshire Autism

Charity registered in Scotland SC043269

REACH was established on 9th March 2012 to bridge the gap in post diagnostic services across Lanarkshire, to provide support to families who have a young person with an Autism Spectrum Condition living within the authority of South Lanarkshire.

Following a period of working closely within the autism community, it was noted there existed a need to work pan-Lanarkshire to provide much needed support and activities in both North and South Lanarkshire and reflect the diagnostic services used by those within NHS Lanarkshire.

Current vacancies

Neighbour Development/Activity Co-ordinator

  • Part time
  • £20,020 pro-rata
  • Springhall/Whitlawburn area of South Lanarkshire
  • Closing 26th July 2019

REACH Lanarkshire Autism was established in 2012 to bridge the gap in services throughout Lanarkshire.

As part of our ongoing commitment to create services for children and young people with Autism and their families, we are looking for a part time (job share) Neighbourhood Development/Activity Co-ordinator to work within the Whitlawburn and Springhall area of South Lanarkshire. Their role will be to engage with families and support them to access our services such as play therapy, peer support, sport and social activities. By having dedicated workers in the area, it will help to remove any barriers which families feel might prevent them from accessing additional support as well as raising additional awareness of the services that REACH provide in the local area.

Experience of Autism is desirable but not essential as it is your willingness and enthusiasm to support our families and enable them to access the necessary support that we are looking for.

This is a five-year post funded by the National Lottery Community Fund; the contract expires in February 2023. The deadline for completed application forms will be Friday, 26th July 2019 with interviews taking place soon after. Only those shortlisted for interview will be notified. The successful applicant will be required to register with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
