Bruntsfield Project is a 24/7 temporary supported accommodation service located on Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh. Our 20 service users are male and female homeless individuals with a variety of support needs including substance misuse and mental health issues.
The job
Our main aim is to move service users on from the project and resettle them in the community in a permanent housing option suited to their needs. This is achieved by building supportive relationships with service users and assisting them to tackle the issues that led to their homelessness. The post involves working to a rota that involves backshifts and weekend working.
The candidate
You should be confident in dealing with a homeless client group and have compassion and understanding for the issues homeless people face. You should also either hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or have the willingness to undertake study to achieve this.
All successful candidates will be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.

Across two accommodation bases in Edinburgh, we provide a temporary supported accommodation service working with 21 single homeless people in shared flats. Our service for women only supports 11 women in individual studios.
The job
Reporting directly to the Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for the line management of the support staff, ensuring people using the services have appropriate outcomes plans and risk assessments in place and to deputise for the manager as required.

The job
You will have line management responsibility for a staff team of 9 – 7 Support Workers and two Concierge staff. You will lead, motivate and inspire the team to meet a range of personal and professional objectives as stipulated by the Care Inspectorate and CEC’s Commissioning Team. You will support and provide development for staff in their roles of supporting the project’s service users throughout their stay and on to suitable accommodation outcomes.
The candidate
You should have experience of working at a supervisory level and have compassion and understanding for the issues homeless people face. You should have already attained an SVQ3 in Health and Social Care and also either hold an SVQ4 in Health and Social Care or have the willingness to undertake study to achieve this.
