Glasgow University Students’ Representative Council delivers a range of student support services as well as representing and campaigning on behalf of our members: all students registered at the University of Glasgow. Whilst we receive the majority of our funding from the University of Glasgow, we are a legally separate student-led charity which operates independently whilst working in partnership with the University. The Advice Centre is unique on campus in that it offers student-centred, independent advice, representation, and advocacy to our members on issues ranging from University Regulations (academic appeals, student complaints etc.) to Housing Rights, Financial Advice, Debt, and Employment Rights.
We require a Head of Advice to lead the Advice Centre on behalf of the SRC including managing the advice staff team of four, effective casework monitoring, service development, operational planning and maintaining relationships with key University stakeholders. Our Advice Centre casework informs our campaigning and policy work. As such, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of regular reports on casework trends, producing briefing notes for our student leaders and working with the team to assist our student officers in establishing campaign priorities and committee preparation. You will work with the rest of the management team in formulating departmental plans and contribute to the broader strategic planning process.
Full Time Position - 35 hours per week. Flexi time system in operation. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary. There may be potential to work from home (part)
