Communications & Marketing Officer

The successful candidate will be well versed at managing a wide range of audiences to include internal and external stakeholders in both not for profit and commercial settings.

We are undergoing a rebranding exercise, making this is an exciting time to join the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the rollout of our new branding.

We are looking for an experienced Customer Advisor to join our dedicated team of customer service professionals. In this key role, the post-holder will be responsible for contributing to the customer experience, ensuring excellent customer service is always received by our client base. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience of delivering excellent customer service and be able to work well in a dynamic and busy team.

The team is made up of seven permanent members of staff. We all work closely together, both within the team and with the wider Association, in a friendly and supportive working environment, sharing ideas and information. Due to Covid restrictions we are all working from home but hope to be back soon within PoLHA’s modern office premises on Constitution Street, in the heart of Leith. The office is close to cafes, shops and restaurants and is conveniently located for several public transport routes, including the Newhaven tram link which opens in 2023.

Tenant Participation Coordinator

We are looking for someone who loves Leith and north Edinburgh as much as we do, and who has a strong track record of encouraging and supporting tenants to participate in and influence decisions taken by their Registered Social Landlord.

The successful candidate will also collaborate with colleagues across our subsidiaries to facilitate the involvement of our Mid Market Rent tenants, and other customers, in service improvement.

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join the Group Business Support Team in this newly formed role. You will provide a range of services to managers and staff across the Group. This will include coordinating reporting to the Scottish Housing Regulator, our internal auditors and other relevant bodies. You will also make sure we are compliant with health and safety legislation; information governance including GDPR and FOI and assisting us to continuously improve our high standard of performance.

The successful candidate will predominantly assist with the delivery of multi-channel communications and marketing materials and campaigns for our multi-trades, maintenance and repairs company, TB Mackay Energy Services. However, they will also have the opportunity to work across the rest of our group in what promises to be a varied and exciting role.

This opportunity is likely to suit a recent graduate or a graduate with one-two years’ experience in a similar role.

Welfare Rights & Money Advice Officer

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic Welfare Rights/Money Advice Officer to join our Tenant Advice service, based in our office in Leith. You will provide an excellent service to our tenants to ensure that income is maximised through welfare benefits and debt and budgeting advice. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be able to work with minimum supervision.

The main purpose of the role is to:

• Carry out benefits check

• Advise on entitlements

• Assist with benefit applications

• Liaise with DWP, CEC and other agencies

• Prepare for and represent customers at benefit appeals and tribunals

• Provide high quality, specialist debt counselling, debt adjusting and budgeting advice to our tenants to ensure that income is maximised, and tenancies sustained

• Carry out case checks for colleagues to ensure compliance and quality of advice to ensure all data and statistical information is recorded accurately

You will have a thorough and current knowledge of welfare benefits and money/debt advice with at least 2 years’ relevant experience working in this field, along with a good general level of education. You should also be familiar with case recording on AdvicePro.

Energy Advice Officer (2 posts)

We think our new Energy Advice Officer posts will make a big difference to the lives of our customers and we can’t wait to start offering this important service on a wider basis. Part-funded by the Big Lottery Cost of Living Fund, the two postholders will share their knowledge and compassion with a wide range of customers.

The postholders will be employed by Harbour Homes and will provide an energy advice service to the customers of a seven-strong consortium of small, locally based, registered social landlords in Edinburgh, and so will work in a range of locations. We’re looking for people who can hit the ground running, with experience of providing energy advice and advocacy work to a very diverse group of customers. You must be prepared to go out and about, depending on service need.

Harbour Homes is Leith and North Edinburgh’s biggest social landlord, providing thousands of affordable homes from Portobello to Granton and everywhere in between.
