Coordinator - Children and Young People Health and Wellbeing Services

Due to growth in our Children & Young People (CYP) Health and Wellbeing Services, there is an exciting opportunity to join Children’s Health Scotland, a charity that supports the health and wellbeing of children and young people and their right to the best possible health. Founded in 1961, as Mother Care for Children in Hospital, the charity has grown to become experts in their sector and the leading children’s healthcare charity in Scotland. It is the only charity dedicated to informing, promoting, and campaigning on behalf of the needs and rights of all children and young people with health conditions.

We are searching for a Coordinator with excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills and a passion for working with children, young people, and those who love and care for them. The post-holder will work within busy and friendly teams and will support the delivery of Programmes with our CYP Health and Wellbeing Services.

Applicants for this post must be experienced working with Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel, and be able to create spreadsheets and deal with numerical information. They must also be confident in delivering presentations, coordinating projects and producing reports.

Post 1: Assistant, Children’s Health and Wellbeing Services (CHWBS)

Post 2: Assistant, Care Experienced Children and Young People’s Service (CECYPS)

There are two exciting opportunities to join Children’s Health Scotland, a charity that helps children and young people meet their healthcare needs in partnership with parents, carers and professionals.

We’re looking for two people with excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills who have a passion for working with children, young people, families and carers. Working within busy and friendly teams, you will be an experienced assistant with excellent IT skills. Your role is to support your team to deliver our services which support the health and wellbeing of children, young people, families and carers. You will be experienced working with Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel, and be able to create spreadsheets and deal with numerical information.

Key duties include:

CHWBS post

• Assisting with the promotion of the CHWBS and more specifically, the Self-Management Service (SMS) e.g. attending workshops, dissemination of information materials, attending events, promotion via social media, and engaging with health professionals and families.

• Assisting in identifying and preparing children and young people to take part in the SMS and providing support throughout the Programme.

• Assisting in the preparation, set up and delivery of face-to-face workshops and online group sessions as part of SMS Programmes.

• Publication of content on our website as directed by your manager and assisting with posts on our social media channels.

• Maintaining systems for office supplies, record keeping and filing

CECYPS post

• Assisting with the delivery and promotion of the CECYPS e.g. attending workshops, dissemination of information materials, attending events, promotion via social media, and engaging with health professionals and families.

• Participation in referral meetings for Foster and Kinship Care workshops.

• Assisting in identifying and preparing children, young people, families and carers to take part in CECYPS and providing support throughout the programme.

• Assisting in the preparation, set up and delivery of face-to-face workshops and online group sessions for Foster and Kinship Carers.

• Publication of content on our website as directed by your manager and assisting with posts on our social media channels.

• Maintaining systems for office supplies, record keeping and filing

• Assist in the preparation, set up and delivery of face-to-face workshops and online sessions including: contacting and booking suitable venues, organising travel, providing refreshments, and facilitating games, activities, and group discussions.

• Contribute to the evaluation of our services including collecting outcome data, conducting surveys, and collating informal feedback from children, young people and health professionals.

• Support the Head of Children’s Health and Wellbeing Services in the delivery of health and wellbeing training.

Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator

The health and wellbeing of children and young people lie at the heart of what we do, especially those with long-term health conditions, and we're dedicated to informing, promoting, and campaigning on their healthcare needs and rights.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the fundraising and marketing activities of Children’s Health Scotland. This new position within the charity requires dynamic and hands on fundraising and marketing leadership and delivery. The role will be building and diversifying income streams, developing and growing fundraising, as well as marketing and brand awareness. In particular, the post holder has overall responsibility for:

  • Self-motivated fundraising, achieving ambitious financial targets as outlined in the Fundraising Operational Plan.
  • Marketing and communications, ensuring we hit our key performance indicators for awareness and supporter engagement.
  • Planning, budgeting, and developing the fundraising and marketing functions.
  • Promoting effective collaborative team working and a culture of professionalism, learning and development.
