Volunteer Dundee is an exciting and forward thinking charity based in Dundee. Our team are community focused and have a strong belief in volunteering, understanding the difference that it makes to people and communities.
Volunteer Dundee is looking for a self-motivated, team-orientated and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the development of a peer volunteer support model that complements the breadth of services available for people who are or have been affected by cancer in Dundee. Side By Side will provide the opportunity for people affected by cancer to receive short-term, emotional and practical support from volunteers with a lived experienced of cancer in a safe and confidential environment. Support will be offered primarily on a one-to-one basis but there will be scope for receiving support over the phone or through online facilities in future. The service is being co-designed and will be delivered by Volunteer Dundee, in partnership with Dundee Macmillan Improving the Cancer Journey. We are also working with a range of other local organisations which support people affected by cancer.
The post holder will support the development of this new initiative and ensure the delivery of a high-quality peer support service.

Volunteer Dundee and Inspiring Scotland has secured funding from Scottish Government, Big Lottery Fund Scotland and the Rank Foundation to recruit a new Development Officer to join our Link Up project in Whitfield, Dundee. Reporting to our Link Up Community Manager, we are looking for an individual who shares our passion to make a difference to join our Link Up team. You will believe in the need for social change and understand and be committed to the role that grassroots community development can play in delivering this. You will help to establish new ways of working in which local people and organisations collaborate to identify and develop sustainable opportunities and solutions to local issues; setting in place long-term changes that contribute to material reductions in poverty and disadvantage in Whitfield and Fintry.
