Our organisation has been supporting people who are blind or partially sighted for over 150 years and is one of Scotland’s oldest charities. We deliver help, support and direct services to over 3,000 children and adults with sight loss, and their families and carers, every year.

Corporate & Events Fundraiser

We have an ambitious and exciting strategy for the coming 3 years and are looking to fill a variety of new posts to help us achieve our objectives.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Corporate and Events Fundraiser to work as part of our fundraising team. The postholder will develop our modest portfolio of corporate supporters, developing and implementing a new strategy to increase corporate giving. The postholder will also be responsible for developing our schedule of events, bringing new ideas to the fore.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated and ambitious organisation. The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record of successful corporate and event giving or the willingness and drive to learn!

Early Years Worker

We have an ambitious and exciting strategy for the coming 3 years and are looking to fill a variety of new posts to help us achieve our objectives.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Early Years Worker to join our Children & Families Team based at Queens Crescent, Glasgow. Reporting to the Senior Development Officer and working as part of the children and families service, the Early Years Worker will be responsible for delivering and developing our ‘Little Explorers’ groups and ‘Sensory Saturday’ activities for children under 5 years of age and their families.

The post holder will be expected to work with families on a one to one basis through home visits offering emotional support and advice. They will develop an understanding of issues affected by children with a Visual Impairment and develop relevant resources to support the child and their family.

They will be expected to build on existing relationships and forge new partnerships with professionals and other organisations to ensure Visibility is positively represented at a local and national level.

Community Fundraiser & Communications Officer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Community Fundraiser & Communications Officer to work as part of our fundraising team. The postholder will secure income through a network of community groups and individual donations, seeking to increase supporters, ensuring excellent account management. The postholder will also lead the organisation’s communications and marketing function, supported by the Head of Fundraising and wider management team.

Community Worker

Due to service expansion we are seeking 4 full time experienced Community Workers to work as part of our multi-disciplinary, holistic team. The postholders will be responsible for developing and establishing a community project that works with people living with sight loss in their own homes, at hubs and in groups, offering support information and advice and linking people in their own communities tackling loneliness and isolation.

Patient Support Worker

We have an ambitious and exciting strategy for the coming 3 years and are looking to fill a variety of new posts to help us achieve our objectives.

Due to service expansion we are seeking 1 full time and 1 part time (14 hours per week) experienced Patient Support Workers to work as part of our multi-disciplinary, holistic team. The postholders will be responsible for providing patient centred support to patients, family members and carers attending the Eye Departments across NHSGGC or NHS Lanarkshire. They will provide emotional support, information and practical advice to help patients maximise their remaining vision and build their independence and sense of wellbeing.
