Aspiring Communities is a Scottish Government and European funding that aims to utilise the assets of local communities to reduce poverty and promote community regeneration. The Community Development Worker will be responsible for developing, coordinating and monitoring the delivery of a high quality volunteering opportunities in Woodburn and Central Dalkeith.

Transform Youth Support Coordinator

Our Transform project provides supported volunteering opportunities for young people aged 14-25, and has recently reached a milestone of having had 1000 young people volunteer with the project over its entire lifespan. We work alongside a number of key local partners to support young people, in particular those from a disadvantaged background, to improve their confidence, learn new skills, and to reach positive destinations.

As Youth Support Coordinator you will have a flexible approach to your work, with great problem solving and organisation skills. You will use your effective communication and interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with partner agencies within the local community.

A relevant Youth Work qualification or equivalent is essential, and experience and knowledge of working in a youth work, education and/or training context is essential.

This post is jointly funded by Midlothian Council and Children In Need, and is available until March 2022.
