Volunteer Glasgow is seeking to employ an Engagement and Inclusion Coordinator to coordinate and assist with the day-to-day delivery of Volunteer Glasgow’s Engagement and Inclusion Services, with particular emphasis on young people under 26 ensuring that these are delivered to agreed outcomes, targets and standards. In particular they will coordinate and deliver the Saltire Awards scheme for young people and volunteer involving organisations across Glasgow. The post is supported with grants from Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council (Communities Fund).
intandem, Scotland’s mentoring programme for young people, brings together vulnerable young people with a mentor to build a consistent and trusting relationship, and improve their chances in life. The Scottish Government has appointed Inspiring Scotland to lead the development of the intandem programme. intandem aims to promote the wellbeing of each and every child who is matched with a mentor.
As an integral part of Volunteer Glasgow’s Engagement and Inclusion Team, the successful candidate will be required to support and advise local people looking to identify and access suitable volunteering opportunities using our digital volunteering platform. They will also contribute to the promotion of volunteering and its benefits to the people of Glasgow, particularly those from groups traditionally under-represented in volunteering.
Candidates should have good communication skills, including use of social media, and be able to demonstrate experience of supporting vulnerable groups and individuals as well as a firm commitment to equality of opportunity for all.
This post is initially temporary until 31st March 2022 but Volunteer Glasgow continually seeks to identify and secure resources and partnerships which will allow us to both maintain and further develop the high-quality services we offer.
