The Tenants Information Service (TIS) has an exciting opportunity for a Tenant Participation and Engagement Officer to join our team – focused on the South Lanarkshire Tenants’ Development Support project.

TIS is seeking a Tenant Participation and Engagement Officer to build on the success of the South Lanarkshire Tenants’ Development Support project, and ensure tenants are at the heart of consultation and have a meaningful role in shaping South Lanarkshire Council’s housing services.

The post will be responsible for providing development support, information, and advice to tenants and communities throughout South Lanarkshire to ensure they have the skills, knowledge, and resources to participate fully.

The ideal candidate must have experience of working with community or tenants’ and resident’s groups, knowledge of housing issues, and a commitment to tenant participation, engagement, and scrutiny.

The role of Tenant Participation and Engagement Officer includes:

  • Developing, delivering, and monitoring a project work plan in partnership with tenants, communities, and South Lanarkshire Council to meet the agree aims, objectives, and timescales of the project.
  • Identifying good practice in the housing service and areas for development.
  • To assist tenant and resident groups in their involvement in community planning and engagement.
  • Empowering and supporting individual tenants, tenant and resident groups, and the wider community to develop digital confidence.
  • Supporting the Council, tenants, and communities to develop good tenant participation and scrutiny practices.

Location: Local project and based within the TIS Head Office in Glasgow. TIS embraces a hybrid working model and as such, staff are expected to work from home and office when appropriate.

The Tenants Information Service (TIS) has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Communications Assistant to join our team.

TIS is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Communications Assistant to support the Communications and Media Manager and wider TIS team to maintain and develop all internal and external communications at TIS – championing a strong visual brand that underpins our core values.

The Communications Assistant will work to produce high quality and engaging communications across multiple channels, and for a variety of audiences. They will have a keen interest in communications/marketing and have strong creative skills.

The ideal candidate should have experience of Microsoft 365 software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a good understanding of Adobe CC design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

The role of Communications Assistant includes:

  • Maintaining and updating the TIS website.
  • Producing and monitoring social media content – including the creation of digital artwork and engaging content.
  • Supporting the production of promotional materials and company literature – including the creation of digital and print ready artwork.
  • Formatting reports and presentations in line with TIS brand guidelines.
  • Involvement in event planning and delivering – including delegate bookings, registration, liaising with key partners and speakers, venue bookings, catering, transport etc.
  • Building relationships and maintaining good communication with TIS members.
  • Developing TIS membership, ensuring it remains appealing, offers value for money, and is relevant to our existing members and attracts any potential new members.
  • Providing communications and administrative support to the wider TIS team as required.
