About the Role

We are now looking for someone who is experienced in policy and advocacy to join our team and make a difference as our Policy and Public Affairs Manager.

You’ll be responsible for delivering our policy and public affairs plan whilst also providing specialist advice on policy areas relevant to our work in Scotland.

About You

We are looking for someone with professional experience of developing and implementing policy and public affairs strategies and delivery plans.

You will be someone with good leadership skills who can plan, coordinate and organise effective work plans.

You’ll also have a good understanding of the policy and influencing context within which Sustrans works in Scotland, including the Scottish Parliament and Committee system.

Senior Evaluation Officer, Research & Monitoring Unit

About the Roles

Our Research and Monitoring Unit plays an important part in supporting our vision by providing evidence on sustainable and active travel that ultimately influences and shapes policy, practice and behaviour across the UK.

We now have a fantastic opportunity to help us make a difference by joining our team as a Senior Evaluation Officer. We have two roles, one focusing on Infrastructure projects (working primarily with Sustrans colleagues and local authority partners on projects across Scotland) and one working on Behaviour Change projects (evaluating Sustrans work with schools, workplaces and communities).

Your role will see you supervising the delivery of a range of high profile monitoring, evaluation, analysis and research projects whilst providing support and direction to members of your team as a line manager.

About You

We are looking for excellent communicators and creative thinkers with the ability to manage and motivate people, getting the best out of others. You will use your exceptional analytical skills and draw on your previous experience of both project management and a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods to apply them to real world projects. So, if you have a track record of scoping, designing, budgeting and reporting on research and evaluation projects, this could be the role for you.

About the Role

We now have an excellent opportunity for you to join the movement and make a difference as part of our flagship active travel programme – Places for Everyone which provides funding and support for active travel infrastructure projects across Scotland.

Working closely with senior colleagues, you will be responsible for the financial planning, analysis and modelling of our grants programme. We work across all of Scotland’s local authorities and have a diverse portfolio and pipeline of projects from early concept stages through to construction.

About You

We believe in collaboration so are looking for an individual who can manage relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will have previous broad experience as a financial analyst in a Programme Management Office (PMO) with good financial data analysis and modelling experience to undertake “what-if” scenario planning to aid decision making.

About the Role
