Partnership Manager

About the role

As The Partnership Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Strategic Partnership, Scotland. You will manage a team of embedded Senior Project Officers working within the partner local authorities and delivering in partnership with a broad range of local stakeholders to develop and deliver local Active Travel Strategies, Visions and Plans.

You will work closely with colleagues to secure funding for our work, capturing and communicating the impacts of better places for people.

You will advocate for sustainable transport across the region and you will use that platform to influence local decision makers, through engaging in policy and planning work, leading on communications, and coordinating business development work in Scotland.

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as Elected MPs, MSP’s members and others within local government, professional bodies and authorities.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should be an experienced leader, expert at developing and maintaining relationships at senior levels in a variety of sectors e.g. Local Authority, business and industry bodies. You should have appropriate line management experience and an aptitude for colleague development.

You must have the ability to communicate authoritatively and persuasively to a range of audiences; with demonstrable experience of remote and face-to-face partnership development techniques.

Senior Evaluation Officer, Research & Monitoring Unit

We have two roles, one focusing on Infrastructure projects (working primarily with Sustrans colleagues and local authority partners on projects across Scotland) and one working on Behaviour Change projects (evaluating Sustrans work with schools, workplaces and communities).

Working closely with senior colleagues, you will be responsible for the financial planning, analysis and modelling of our grants programme. We work across all of Scotland’s local authorities and have a diverse portfolio and pipeline of projects from early concept stages through to construction.

About You

You will have previous broad experience as a financial analyst in a Programme Management Office (PMO) with good financial data analysis and modelling experience to undertake “what-if” scenario planning to aid decision making.

About the role

As the Senior Policy Advisor, you will report to Head of Policy and Communications, Scotland. This key role supports public affairs work in Scotland, helping influence decision makers and engaging with political parties, civic society and other key national contacts through participation in networks, lobbying in parliament and responding to requests for information.

You’ll be responsible for delivering our policy and public affairs plan whilst also providing specialist advice on policy areas relevant to our work in Scotland.

Given the close working relationship you will develop with MSP’s and staff at the Scottish Parliament, this role will be a hybrid role, with travel expected to Edinburgh when required (mostly during the sitting periods of the Scottish Parliament) with the remainder working from home.

Although a full time position, we are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

About you

You should have experience of working with government and local authorities and a working knowledge of how policy is implemented and influences government. You’ll be able to build and nurture relationships with ease.

You should be comfortable working with, and communicating through, all forms of media.

We will look for evidence of your experience in both developing and implementing policy and public affairs strategies and delivery plans, policies and budgets.

You should have demonstrable project management experience, evidencing your methodology, and possess finely honed presentation skills.

Excellent communication skills are key, as you will be expected to write responses to consultations or supporting the Sustrans Exec to give evidence in Parliament.

About the Role

We now have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our Network Delivery Coordinator.

Delivery of the National Cycle Network across Scotland is guided by Sustrans 30 year Network Plan, which aims to identify, prioritise and map route projects for future Network Development. The Network Plan will inform business development activities, decision making, project tracking and reporting while helping to optimise business operations.

As part of the Network Development Team, you will help to deliver Sustrans Paths for Everyone Vision through development of the National Cycle Network in Scotland. We want to see a UK-wide network of traffic-free paths for everyone, connecting cities, towns and countryside, loved by the communities they serve. Critical to our success in Scotland are the active travel policy goals of the Scottish Government.

You will also have the opportunity to work with colleagues and partner organisations to coordinate the development, analysis and stewardship of the Network Plan database (focused on infrastructure delivery) and corresponding GIS mapping as we work to deliver the Paths for Everyone vision in Scotland.

About You

We believe in collaboration and are looking for somebody who can oversee development, stewardship, analysis and version control of the Network Plan database (Smartsheets and ArcGIS).

You will be somebody with experience in database management, working with GIS packages and spatial data and working with a range of stakeholder / partner organisations.

Somebody with an analytical approach and the ability to stay on task and work to deadlines. A proactive individual with excellent communication skills enabling ability to present information to a variety of audiences.

An exciting opportunity for you to take a leading role in the Sustrans Scotland Communications team. As the Senior Communications Officer, you'll promote Sustrans Scotland’s flagship walking and cycling infrastructure delivery projects. These projects are making it easier for people to walk and cycle.

This is a rewarding job in which you will work closely with internal and external partners, communicating via social media and directly with media organisations across Scotland, as well as other relevant agencies.

You will be the communications lead for the Infrastructure Development team, managing the day to day delivery of the practical aspects e.g. press releases and project promotion. You will also shape the communications strategy for the department to the general public, media and policy makers.

This role may require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. Candidates should be based within commutable distance to Sustrans Edinburgh office with hybrid home working available.

As the project officer for workplace engagement, you will report into the Delivery Co-ordinator, Workplaces in the Sustrans Scotland Behaviour Change team, working closely with other project officers across the region.

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key partners across a broad range of sectors such as: industry, public sector, councils and Higher Education establishments; affecting behavior change within them and help to build their sustainability plans.

In this role, you will deliver on a number of officer led activities ranging from information stalls, training sessions, led walks and rides, workplace challenges, volunteer recruitment (Active Travel Champions), webinars, team meetings and inductions.

Engaging and motivating our partners is a key element of the role. To do this effectively, you must be aware of local and national policies that relate to active and sustainable travel policies. You must be a proficient user of MS Office applications, able to create engaging presentations, and be competent in multimedia and creativity software, such as Adobe and Mailchimp.

Senior Project Officer, Active Travel NHSScotland

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Strategic Partnerships team in Scotland on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will work in partnership with NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) providing guidance and practical support to NHSScotland Health Boards on projects relating to active travel, creating healthier, happier, fairer places that are accessible to all.

You will lead on the project management and delivery of active travel projects with NHSScotland Health Boards including NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Forth Valley. You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal NHS departments such as estates and health improvement, as well as with external bodies in the public, private and third sectors including the Scottish Government, ERZ and Forth Environment Link.

You will work strategically with NHSScotland Health Boards, writing bids and helping increase funding to support the delivery of active travel projects across Scotland.

Within NHS NSS, you will also play a part in influencing sustainability policies and strategies by providing feedback on active travel themes.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. Currently this role is working from home; however once Covid restrictions lift, you will be based at the NHSScotland offices at either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Meridian Court, Glasgow, with flexibility for some homeworking. Occasional travel to Sustrans Scotland’s offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow will be required.

About you

We will look for you to evidence your experience in multi partnership projects and ask that you are an excellent communicator, capable of producing persuasive and engaging business cases.

We will look for evidence of your experience in project management and you should be comfortable using various methodologies.

Ideally, you will build relationships with ease. In this role you will proactively engage with national and regional health boards across Scotland, influencing their active travel policies, developing projects and promoting Sustrans. Knowledge of NHSScotland’s internal structures would be beneficial for this role.

About the role

As the Sustrans Senior Project Officer, you will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people within Midlothian Council and others within local government, professional bodies and authorities to assist the development and delivery of a transformative sustainable and active travel strategy.

Your day to day duties will be advised by the Local Authority, with line management provided for you by the Partnerships Manager at Sustrans Scotland.

You will work across council departments and in partnership with external organisations, to consolidate cooperation amongst stakeholders and delivery partners, to identify and develop opportunities for investment in active travel, to make it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle in Midlothian.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects for Midlothian Council on behalf of Sustrans. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance of Dalkeith, where the role will be based once Covid restrictions are lifted.

About you

You should have experience of partnership working and be able to build relationships with ease. You will proactively engage within Midlothian Council and affiliated agencies, to develop and promote the Active Travel Strategy.

To be effective in this role, you will have a working knowledge of the active travel sector in Scotland and be able to think strategically.

We will look for you to evidence your experience in partnership projects. You should be an excellent communicator to facilitate both writing bids and applications for funding opportunities as well as reports.
