dates-n-mates is Scotland’s first dating and friendship agency for adults with learning disabilities. As part of our new dates-n-mates Falkirk team we are looking to recruit for the position of Project Development & Volunteer Co-ordinator.

The main purpose of this role is to oversee, co-ordinate and lead the project team to facilitate opportunities for people with a learning disability to develop and maintain new friendships and relationships.

You will be responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of outcomes, budget management, reporting and forging essential links and partnerships between dates-n-mates, local businesses and other organisations from all key sectors.

The post holder will also be responsible for overseeing the volunteering function for dates-n-mates Falkirk and will be actively involved in the strategic planning of the project..

You will liaise with the project leads from C-Change Scotland’s other regional dates-n-mates projects to effectively share best practice, resources and learning and to contribute towards the development of dates-n-mates Scotland and develop and continually improve the systems and practices of dates-n-mates.

I live at home with mum so I need people who can adapt to working with myself but also working alongside my mum when needed. I like people who have a good sense of humour and don’t take themselves too seriously. I like people who are relaxed and have lots of get up and go.

I need people who are able to support me with maintaining my health. I enjoy going to the gym on a daily basis and work at my local supermarket in the afternoon.

I need support from you to be able to use the gym safely and develop my skills at work. I am well known in my community and have regular leisure activities that I enjoy doing. I mainly need support during the week but will occasionally require support at the weekend and some evenings.
