The Brief

This is a strategic role leading the development of the North Lanarkshire area in line with the Personalisation agenda, actively promoting and implementing a human rights based approach. Marketing and Events Co-ordinator (at dates-n-mates)

dates-n-mates is Scotland’s national dating and friendship agency run by and for people with learning disabilities. Established in 2008, the project has hosted hundreds of events, helping people to tackle social isolation by making friends, having meaningful relationships and building stronger connections with their communities. As part of our dates-n-mates Aberdeen team we are looking to recruit for the position of Marketing and Events Co-ordinator.

Responsibilities and Duties

To work as a key part of a project team and volunteers to facilitate opportunities for people with a learning disability to develop and maintain new friendships and relationships to make stronger connections in their community. To effectively implement the marketing and Public Relations outcomes of dates-n-mates Aberdeen.

A key focus of this role is to promote the benefits of dates-n-mates to prospective members, external organisations and other potential stakeholders. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the Marketing and Events Co-ordinator to raise the profile of the project and its services within the wider community both locally and nationally.

This post-holder will be required to work in co-ordination with volunteer strategy, engaging volunteers and supporting their work. Furthermore, the efficient and effective delivery and planning of a regular calendar of social events an essential expectation of the role.
