Social Investment Scotland (SIS) is a dynamic and growing organisation providing investment solutions for the Third Sector.
SIS’s market building activity covers projects, programmes and activities to help communities build capacity, confidence, and resilience. The Head of Market Building will lead a team that has overall responsibility for the design and development of capacity building programmes, and provision of business support in pursuit of this strategic aim.
The overall objective of the role, working across the organisation and closely with all members of the SIS leadership team, will be to lead SIS’s efforts to grow the market for social investment; either by helping organisations understand investment concepts or through business support interventions (both one to one and one to many) that lead to growth and scale opportunities supported by investment from SIS.
The post of Finance and Operations Manager is a newly created position within SIS. As part of a finance and operations
team, the job holder will contribute to the effective and efficient running of the organisation through the oversight and delivery of financial and operational duties.
The role holder with be a qualified accountant and is expected to play an active part in supporting the delivery of the organisation’s strategy; particularly through the analysis and presentation of decision-relevant financial and operational information.
As a result of the continued growth of the organisation, and to support the ambitions of our refreshed strategic framework, this new position is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team at SIS.
Working closely with the CEO, the Head of Funds will lead on a range of strategic actions that will support the design and development of new SIS funds, with a particular focus on propositions for private investors via the SIS Ventures subsidiary.
The Head of Funds will have a unique opportunity to combine their financial knowledge and expertise with the opportunity to support the development of impact investment funds that create meaningful impact in communities across Scotland, the UK and even elsewhere in the world.
The Finance Assistant is a valued role within a growing and ambitious organisation. As part of a small finance team, the job holder will play an active part in the effective and efficient running of the financial operations of the organisation. The job holder will be responsible for processing sales and purchase ledger transactions, accounts reconciliations and analysis, closing month-end, and assisting in the preparation of the management accountant for group companies.
