Sleep Scotland is an Edinburgh based charity that promotes healthy sleep in children and young people through sleep awareness, sleep counselling and education through our sleep services function. We work throughout Scotland and in other parts of the UK providing intensive sleep programmes for children with additional support needs by training sleep councillors to work directly with families in need of support. We also run a telephone support help line.
Do you have a flair for running a large number events throughout the year? Is your focus on excellent customer service? Are you self-motivated and able to work independently?
We are currently looking to recruit a Training Programme Coordinator to support our busy training team. As a Training Programme Coordinator, you will take a lead on developing and implementing our busy training courses over the year, both online and face-to-face across the British Isles. You will also support promotion and marketing of training courses, both open to the public and commissions. You will support the Sleep Services Manager with reporting to funders, as well as taking on line management responsibilities for the Training Administrator.
You will be an experienced training or events coordinator, with outstanding skills in supporting groups both online and in person. You will possess a strong drive to sell training places via monthly promotion including emails and advertising, and working with our social media team to promote via our social media channels, in order to meet income targets. With our online training being delivered online via zoom, experience of using zoom or similar platforms is also essential.
The role also offers the opportunity to get involved with a range of courses, both for the general public and for commissioned groups across the health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors. This will mean you taking ownership and being accountable for delivery. Overall, you will be a strong communicator, enthusiastic, willing to learn and excel in a fast-paced, progressive organisation.

Sleep Scotland has been running a Sleep Support Line since 2017. We provide advice, guidance, and support for parents and carers of children and young people with sleep problems through telephone calls and emails. We are looking to recruit a Tier 1 Telephone Sleep Advisor to the team.
As a Tier 1 Telephone Sleep Advisor you would provide general sleep support and advice over the phone to the parents and carers of typically developing children and young people with sleep issues. By listening to the parent/carer on the telephone, you will work to provide ideas and suggestions to improve the situation e.g. a good bedtime routine, gradual withdrawal techniques, action required in the middle of the night etc. Knowledge of sleep is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.

Sleep Scotland is a charity that trains professionals across the UK and Ireland to support children, young people, and adults with additional support needs and sleep problems.
Do you have an interest in sleep and recognise how poor sleep has a detrimental impact on the physical and emotional development of a child or adolescent and wellbeing of adults? If so, read on as you may be interested in joining our training team.
We are looking for medical practitioners with a special interest in sleep, especially if associated with either children or adults with complex disabilities. You will be delivering training sessions to other professionals either online or across the UK for up to two days at a time. We would seek your input into session plans and materials, and due to the scheduling of courses, would need you to have some flexibility with your time.
In addition to your salary of up to £450 per day (based on experience), you will receive expenses such as subsistence, travel and accommodation costs.

Our existing Teens+ service supports young adults with complex communication needs within our two centres, based in the south of Edinburgh.

The Finance Business Partner will lead a change project in the organisation to ensure that our finance systems and processes continue to meet the highest standards.
Reporting to the CEO, you will work alongside our existing Finance Manager to review all aspects of our finances. You will advise the CEO on your recommendations and lead the agreed change process. You will also advise the CEO on opportunities to further the objectives of the charity, by providing strategic guidance and support to our growth plans.

Sleep Scotland are looking to expand our training team to meet increased demand so are looking for a Training Administrator to provide administrative support to our highly successful sleep training courses both online and in person across the UK and Ireland. Our Training Administrators provide on-the-day support for our training courses, so there are opportunities to learn about sleep from our team of esteemed lecturers.
You will have excellent organisational skills, good attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively. You will use your initiative to manage your own workload as well as be able to work effectively as part of a team. You will have experience of using IT in an administrative and supportive context, in particular Microsoft PowerPoint and Zoom. Interest in the voluntary sector and in sleep related information would be an advantage.
This position will be hybrid working with the majority working from home, with some work on occasion in our office in Gilmerton, Edinburgh. Occasional travel and overnight stays elsewhere in the UK and Ireland will be required but planned in advance.
