Community Fundraiser (North)

BTA (Bruce Tait Associates) are delighted to be working with Scottish SPCA in their search for a Community Fundraiser (North).

Scottish SPCA have been helping animals for over 175 years by rescuing and caring for animals in need, finding loving homes, releasing them back into the wild and educating the public to help to bring those who are cruel to animals to justice.

How would you like to dedicate your professional life to championing animal welfare and wellbeing across Scotland? You can achieve this by becoming the Scottish SPCA Community Fundraiser.

Community Fundraiser (North) is a new role within Scottish SPCA, supporting and leading community fundraising throughout the north of Scotland. The successful candidate can be based at either the Inverness or Aberdeen Animal Rescue and Animal Rehoming Centre.

The post holder will be pro-active, meeting with existing supporters as well as developing new support within the community. You will meet with local businesses to provide impactful presentations and be the main point of contact for volunteers within the region and work with front line staff to enthuse and motivate, maximising fundraising opportunities within the community.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with at least one years’ experience of successful community fundraising, are able to work to tight deadlines and with minimal supervision. You will be experienced in providing donor care, recruiting and coordinating volunteers. If you are a team player, positive and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills then this is the role for you.

Flexibility is required for occasional evening and weekend working.

Events Fundraiser

How would you like to dedicate your professional life to championing animal welfare and wellbeing across Scotland? You can achieve this by becoming the Scottish SPCA Events Fundraiser.

This is a new role within Scottish SPCA and you will lead on all national events to maximise event fundraising income and increase supporter engagement. You will be based at Scottish SPCA Head Office in Dunfermline.

The post holder will lead on all events including challenge and overseas events as well as attend exhibitions to raise awareness and create innovative events for the charity.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with at least one years’ experience of successful event fundraising or management. You will be experienced in providing donor care, are able to work to tight deadlines and stay calm under pressure. If you are a team player, positive and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills then this is the role for you.

Flexibility is required for occasional evening and weekend working.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, for a senior level strategic Head of Fundraising to join our recently restructured Comms and Engagement, Fundraising and Income Generation Department to develop, lead and deliver the Society’s ambitious fundraising and income generation strategy.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Head of Fundraising will require strategic vision, a deep understanding of business development and income generation underpinned by a clear focus on corporate relationship management to drive sustainable income for the Society. With an ability to build a strong network of supporters and partners to help influence, support and inform the strategic fundraising plan, you have an established and successful track record of leading a high-profile fundraising portfolio.

As a key member of the senior management team, your senior level leadership experience enables you to positively contribute to our people plan with its focus on employee engagement and wellbeing, and career development to drive high performance within the Society. With effective influencing skills, you will support the Chief Executive, Leadership Team, colleagues, volunteers and other key stakeholders embedding a Society wide fundraising ethos ensuring opportunities are capitalised on.

Applicants must be educated to degree level, have outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the professional credibility to deal confidently with people both internally and externally.

At Scottish SPCA we have an unwavering commitment to rescuing and caring for animals in need and you must have an interest in and commitment to animal welfare to ensure that our fundraising and income generation strategic activities provide ongoing sustainable income in support of our essential services.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 35 hours per week with additional hours to meet the requirements of the post.

A UK driving licence is essential.
