Community Fund Co-ordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for a well organised and motivated individual to join our Communities Team, co-ordinating a portfolio of community benefit funds in Central Scotland. Key responsibilities include supporting volunteer Advisory Panels, co-ordinating grant-making and other fund distribution and management activity, and engaging community stakeholders in maximising fund opportunities and impact.

The Communities Team distributes place-based funds coming from a range of sources, notably onshore and offshore wind farms. We provide fund governance, grant administration and related services for a range of commercial and community-sector clients, combined with a commitment to community-led approaches to fund strategy and distribution.

If you have excellent communication skills, practical experience in grant-making or fund management, community facilitation or capacity building then we’re keen to hear from you.

The post may cover parts of Fife, Forth Valley, the Lanarkshires, Lothian and Eastern Scottish Borders.

Investment Executive

We have an exciting opportunity available for a highly motivated and well organised individual to join our Social Investment team, assessing loan applications and managing a portfolio of existing investees. Key responsibilities include credit assessments, providing written reports, relationship management and supporting the wider organisation with social investment opportunities

The Social Investment Team currently distributes funds from the JESSICA (Scotland) Trust, offering blended grant and loans to social enterprises in central Scotland. We provide support to applicants and our existing clients to enable them to run sustainably and have maximum social impact in their local area. Going forward we are looking to create opportunities to manage other repayable finance products and mainstream this approach within the foundation.

If you have lending experience, with excellent communication skills and the desire to support organisations to develop and succeed then we would be pleased to hear from you.

Marketing Executive

It would be desirable for the candidate to have had experience of working within local communities who Foundation Scotland support. A critical requirement of the role is to interact with these communities and regularly report to the line manager who is based in Scotland. Whilst the role is predominantly home based, travel across Scotland is very likely.

The Philanthropy Team

Foundation Scotland’s Philanthropy Team supports our donors to bring their philanthropic interests to life. The team work closely with our donors to understand what matters to them and helps them to shape this passion into giving strategies and grants programmes.

The team manages many high-volume national grant programmes and a large number of smaller, more focused funds. The team works with a broad range of donors, from corporate organisations looking to give back to the communities that support them to individual and family philanthropists looking to impact the cause that means most to them. We help to design and deliver a mix of Foundation Scotland advised funds and donor-advised funding.

Building strong relationships and enabling our donors to make the most significant impact with their giving is at the heart of what we do.

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy & Quality, the purpose of the role is:

  • To manage and support a portfolio of donors from a range of sources such as high net worth individuals, families, corporate donors, charitable Trusts, and Foundations and programmes in partnership with UK Community Foundations (UKCF)
  • Provide effective philanthropy advice and develop new and increased business through the cultivation and stewardship of on-going relationships. This is achieved by supporting donors to develop their giving strategies, providing grantmaking programmes and effective ways for them to manage their giving in Scotland.
  • Connect with other grantmakers and networks such as the funders’ forums frontline to raise our profile, demonstrate impact and build on learning.
