Our housing stock includes multi-storey flats, deck access properties and tenements. We run lots of projects, events and activities that bring people of all ages together. We help people gain employment, learn new skills and access financial advice.

We are a community-based housing association located in the north west of Glasgow. We manage nearly 4,350 homes and provide tenancy support and community development activities to enhance the local area.

We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude and the ability to build strong working relationships with their colleagues.

Queens Cross Housing Association has created this exciting new post as part of our commitment to challenging poverty and creating vibrant communities.

This 2 year fixed term role is funded by the Scottish Government’s Investing in Communities Fund.

The successful candidate will be tasked with leading on a new Community Opportunities Project with a focus on increasing participation in community activities within the Westercommon, Hamiltonhill and Woodside areas.

We are looking for a dedicated community development or social housing professional to join our Social Regeneration Team with a remit to drive community engagement and involvement within targeted areas.

Working with our Social Regeneration Team, you must be comfortable working in partnership with schools, community organisations and members of the community.

The work of the Community Opportunities Coordinator must be responsive to the needs of the local community and will lead to an increase in people taking advantage of community learning opportunities.

New opportunities should be created and footfall at our community facilities should increase. The post holder should assist people to overcome barriers to participation and be focused on promoting opportunities designed to tackle isolation, improve educational attainment and contribute towards good health.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years’ experience in community engagement or community development work. Experience of working in a Housing Association environment is desirable, but not essential. The post will require evening and occasional weekend working.

The post offers generous terms and conditions including flexible working hours, contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and 13 public holidays.

Assistant Wellbeing Worker

Our Wellbeing Service for people aged 60+ has a long established history of providing support to older people living independently in their own homes. Our vision is to create Excellent Housing in Vibrant Communities and to help people live well by providing support when it’s needed most.

We are looking for enthusiastic, empathic individuals committed to the wellbeing of people aged 60+ to join our successful team.

Our service offers a unique approach to helping older people remain active members of their local community, promoting independence, building resilience and working with people to achieve their individual goals.

We provide Queens Cross Housing Association tenancies for people age 60+ and enhanced housing management to help them maintain their tenancy

We deliver ‘interventions’, working with people when their health deteriorates, helping them regain their independence (this work strand is funded to April 2020)

We work one to one with people to support independence and use the good conversation approach to build their resilience

We’ve achieved ‘very good’ ratings from the Care Inspectorate and are looking for exceptional people to join us in the following roles:-

Assistant Wellbeing Worker– equivalent of 35 hours a week

Working from one of our operational bases, working Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm and weekends and public holidays 8.30-12pm on a rota basis

Sessional Support Workers- Flexible hours by agreement at £9.73 per hour

Staff benefits package includes:-

· Generous salary of £ 17717 to £ 19087

· Annual leave entitlement of 27 days plus 13 public holidays (enhanced rate if worked).
