Project Scotland, is delighted to announce that it has been asked to support the delivery of the Young Persons Guarantee by the Scottish Government, this will enable us to reach more young people and support them in their journey to a positive destination through volunteering. We are therefore looking to grow our team.

We are looking to recruit 2 mentor project officers to help manage our national mentoring programme.

All the posts have the potential to be full time but we are willing to offer more flexible arrangements to suit individual circumstances. Roles will be offered until 31st March 2021 when the posts will be reviewed. We are anticipating further demand for our services, and we are therefore also looking to develop a pool of potential candidates.

Job Purpose

The Mentor Project Worker will report directly to the Mentor Manager. The role will involve various admin related tasks, engaging with the young people we support and the opportunity to support or lead on some of the digital and more creative aspects of what we do within the Team.

Main duties

  • To carry out a variety of administrative tasks involved in the daily running of the Mentoring Programme these include, maintaining mentor database, responding to incoming emails, maintaining accurate records
  • Assisting the Mentor Manager with aspects of the volunteer mentor recruitment process
  • Contacting young people we support as part of the wider project, telling them about mentoring and discussing their options of mentoring support
  • Communicating regularly with mentors, keeping them informed sharing knowledge and learning and inviting them to various activities including training, get togethers, webinars
  • Gather quotes and case studies from mentors and mentees to be used in marketing, impact and evaluation
  • To support the marketing team with the creation of social media content that will promote the great work of the Mentoring Programme
  • There is also the opportunity to support the Mentor Manager with our educational webinars. This could include researching content, contacting potential specialists that could support us with these and facilitating discussion during the webinar.
  • Other duties as reasonably requested by the Mentor Manager

We are looking to recruit 3 youth engagement managers to cover Dundee, Glasgow and Galloway. All of our staff are working from home just now, but we expect the Youth Engagement Managers to be locality focused going forward. We are looking to extend our services in Glasgow, and Galloway, and establish a new presence in Perth.

Job Purpose

  • To support people who engage with our service and identify and support any barriers or challengers highlighted by them.
  • To identify, develop, and manage partnerships with charitable and not-for-profit organisations across your designated area.
  • To create diverse, high-quality structured volunteering opportunities with partner organisations, ensuring that roles reflect the needs and interests of the various people who want to volunteer.
  • To create, develop and manage partnerships with referral partners across the third sector.

Main duties

  • To meet specified annual targets in placing volunteers, and achieving positive outcomes for people in those placements
  • To develop and maintain excellent relationships with charity partners and local referral partnerships who both refer and host people who could benefit from our services.
  • To identify and develop relationships with new partners to provide additional volunteering opportunities as required
  • To research and engage with partners to provide required coverage of placement sector and geography
  • To manage the risk assessment, quality assurance and audit of partners as appropriate
  • To manage all elements of the volunteer experience from application to completion of their volunteering opportunity, and beyond
  • To speak directly to volunteers and understand their wants, needs and aspirations and determine the best opportunity for each volunteer
  • To lead on the monitoring and evaluation of projects and the volunteer/partner experience.
  • To ensure all the above is done with excellent record keeping, in accordance with compliance requirements of the funder.

The absolute focus is on increasing income for low income families. Evidence suggests that certain family types are more at risk of poverty and that they face the most significant barriers to get into work, sustain, and progress within work. Some families may have more than one of these family type characteristics and the barriers are higher as a result. The role will be offered until 31st March 2022.

Job Purpose

You will be working on the Parental Employment Support Service, in partnership with Dundee City Council and other organisations.

This post is part funded by European Structural Funds. The post holder will be solely involved in European Social Fund activities (i.e. spend 100% of their contracted hours on the ESF activity only and undertake no other non-ESF related duties).

The absolute focus is on increasing income for low income families.   • Your role will be to identify, co-ordinate and manage a team of Volunteer Mentors, who will mentor and support Parental Employment Support Fund clients in the workplace.
  • You will bring expertise in the training and creation of Mentors in workplaces across Dundee City.
  • You will will contribute to the overall performance and delivery of the PESF service, by working closely with other partner organisations, through co-location and partnership working
