Hadeel

Charity registered in Scotland SC033983

Hadeel, the shop, is owned by the charity Palcrafts, whose main aim is to relieve poverty in Palestine (primarily in the West Bank and Gaza), by providing a sustainable source of income for Palestinians working in fair trade organisations and social enterprises. Hadeel enables Palestinian fair trade and business development through our shop in Edinburgh, our website, other outlets, local reps and events. We provide around 20 Palestinian producer groups with access to international customers. These groups include women's co-operatives, a school for deaf children, small family workshops and a few larger enterprises. From time to time, we make grants to these groups to support their sustainability and development. We also seek to raise awareness and support for Palestinian people disadvantaged by socio-economic and political systems; eg: by hosting Palestinian speakers, maintaining a small resource centre and organising occasional visits to the producer groups.
